I wonder where kids who have spent their entire life on the internet are going to find their nudity and profanity now that they can't read MAUS.
When I was in grade school you had to put some work into finding nudity. Someone had to have a magazine, or you babysat and went looking for the stash when the kids were down. You dumpster dived for a skin mag. Now? Tsh. These crusty ninnies have no idea what kids are doing.
This is exactly the "trigger warning/safe space" hysteria that conservatives think liberals wrap themselves in - and they're the ones wrapping themselves in it. Teaching the Holocaust without "depictions of violence"? Are you fucking kidding me? Get out of your pillow fort.
Anyway, if you think the Green M&M putting pants on is a communist abrogation of American values, but are offended by naked cartoon mice talking about the Holocaust - well, you can be on the McMinn County School Board too.
I'm extremely annoyed by reactionary idiots today. Well, more than usual.

I'm so used to conspiracy theories about the health/death/retirement of SCOTUS justices that it's shocking to see one that's just sort of normal and predictable.
There will, of course, be conspiracy theories. But Breyer is old and wants to get out while Dems still technically have a majority. It's not outlandish at all.
RW infotainment claimed Antonin Scalia was murdered. Liberals thought Anthony Kennedy conspired with Trump and the Federalist Society to pay Brett Kavanaugh's mortgage and get him on the court. Q believers thought RBG was both dead and being kept alive by secret drugs. Fun times.

If you've never listened to an old Art Bell show, this one from June 97 is a corker. It's about the Phoenix Lights phenomenon, and a growing hysteria that something MASSIVE is about to happen linked to Mars and ancient Egypt and NASA.

Bell brings out the all star team to analyze a bizarre sequence of events involving an army convoy, the governor being indicted, a phony recall election, a guy in an alien costume, a bunch of NASA scientists linked to the Mars Pathfinder mission being murdered, and more.
I'm over an hour in, and Face on Mars crank Richard Hoagland is comparing himself to Einstein and AZ legislator Frances Barwood is insinuating that the KGB is taking over Phoenix. Just bonkers.

Bob Saget's death was announced an hour ago, and antivax ghouls are already blaming it on the vaccine. Absolutely demented.
Why give these monsters any attention at all? Because it will be a major right wing talking point tomorrow.
Bob Saget was a vaccine victim, but also apparently a pedo, because all celebs or performers are pedos to these people. Conspiracy theories with one hand, defamation with the other.

Tens of millions of Americans won't get vaccinated, won't wear masks, and won't personally do anything to curtail their behavior in the face of omicron. Most people are, but many would rather die. That's not Joe Biden's fault.
The government can do a lot, and can be doing more to send out tests and makes. But look at the reaction to vaccine mandates. States would rather go to court than make their residents take a free and effective shot. Some people will not comply, no matter what.
I'm not a Biden stan. Didn't even vote for him in my primary. But spend five minutes in right wing media and tell me there was ever a prayer of him personally ending the pandemic.

From an ethical standpoint, I can't cover this leak, because a decent amount directly (and falsely) references me. But there's a story here for a journalist who isn't involved with any of the players or previous Q-related drama.
Stewartson was completely obsessed with defaming and creating conspiracy theories about me as far back as August 2020, before I even knew who he was. So I can't write this story, but someone else can.
Before the "OSINT badass" crew shows up with their "receipts," I did interact with Jim a few times in August 2020 - in what could be best described as "polite disagreement." I didn't even remember until I looked it up. And for that, Jim created a conspiracy theory about me.

My 1/6 story: I've been writing about QAnon since January 2018 - when almost nobody knew what it was or took it seriously. I took did, because I saw its similarities to scams and frauds that had lasted decades by promising the same thing Q promised, except in blood, not money.
Many of the "disinformation experts" who now write reams about what Q "really" is wouldn't have known a Q drop from a hole in the ground when I was *screaming* for people to look at it not as some internet cranks, but as a burgeoning prophecy cult with a kill list.
I've never waivered from my belief that Q is not some high-level conspiracy, but a primal urge to get back at the people who are keeping you down, and the need for out groups to form in groups - all exploited by cagey grifters and spineless politicians.
