Last year, as the Capitol attack unfolded, a group of men were lingering just across the river, at the Marine Corps. / Iwo Jima memorial. A truck was running. One had an earpiece.

.@jwestcottphoto spotted the group on Jan. 6. He reached out to the FBI, and published some of the photos with faces blurred, but the feds never contacted him.

“I haven’t heard anything. I’ve heard zero,” he said. “It’s unbelievably frustrating…”

“1 if by land… 2 if by Sea, Corner of west basin and Ohio is water transport landing!!”

There was a plan to ferry weapons across the Potomac, which of course you can’t do from a Comfort Inn three miles inland.

Still a lot to learn here.

huffpost.com/entry/quick-re…
“The indictment alleges they used those rooms to store and guard the firearms, although the four men on the North Carolina QRF team ‘kept their rifles ready to go in a vehicle parked in the hotel lot’ according to a court filing.” huffpost.com/entry/quick-re…
“We will have several well equipped QRFs outside DC,” Rhodes wrote on Jan. 6 before leaving his hotel. “And there are many, many others, from other groups, who will be watching and waiting on the outside in case of worst case scenarios.” huffpost.com/entry/quick-re…
The acting head of the Oath Keepers said the blurred images of the men at the Iwo Jima memorial didn’t ring any bells. “Nobody recognized them,” she said, although she said she had “no earthly idea” what other groups Stewart Rhodes was communicating with. huffpost.com/entry/quick-re…

Court documents give a few hints about the plan to ferry weapons across the Potomac on Jan. 6: huffpost.com/entry/quick-re…
This entire plan seemed premised on the notion that law enforcement would have been more prepared for Jan. 6 and may have cut off bridge access: huffpost.com/entry/quick-re…
There are references to a boat ramp near the Pentagon and a landing spot at West Basin and Ohio, which is in West Potomac Park. There is a landing spot there. ImageImageImageImage

James McGrew, who was involved in brawl with officers in the rotunda and in the tunnel attack, is going to trial in July.

McGrew rejected a plea to counts 2 and 4 of his indictment.

DOJ tells court that sentencing guidelines under plea would've been 84-105 months (7-8+ years).
If he took that plea deal, McGrew likely would've received the longest sentence in the Jan. 6 investigation to date. He'll roll the dice with a jury instead. He's represented by John Pierce.

Here are the two counts that McGrew would've pleaded guilty to under the deal extended by the government, which could've sent him away for 7+ years due to his criminal history. Link to his superseding indictment: storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.usco…

Sentencing hearing underway for QAnoner Nicholas Languerand, who repeatedly assaulted cops at the Capitol and claims he feels "lied to and betrayed" by leaders he respected.

Judge John Bates finds that 46 months in prison is the bottom of the advisory sentencing guideline.
"People who engage in terrorism always think they're in the right," federal prosecutor tells the judge.
DOJ quotes Languerand: “If you are ok with fraudulently certifying an election to win, then I’m ok with attacking a government building to stop you”
