Thanks for the follows, likes and shares everyone. I'm so grateful to see other people smile and enjoy the same silly things as I do. ๐
Just wanted to clarify that I am not an ecologist. I am however a neuroscientist/psychologist who has expertise in animal behaviour.
I used to teach rats how to use touchscreens and make value-based choices to better undertand the role of the hippocampus in decision-making.
These days I get to apply my training in science and behaviour to try and help improve the lives of others in the #GC ๐จ๐ฆ public service.
I worked in public health to help support the pandemic response. Now, I'm a senior researcher at Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada.
Follow me if you want. But, fair warning...
Things I tweet about:
โด๏ธ behavioural science (nudge, boost, ethics, etc.)
โด๏ธ equity / anti-racism
โด๏ธ social / systems change
โด๏ธ public health
โด๏ธ public policy
Things I don't (usually) tweet about:
โด๏ธ animals riding animals
Ok I lied I also tweet about animals sometimes especially this one ๐
Last Sunday, I was ecstatic that in just 5 days Iโd finally get to be vaccinated.
Since then, my partner (who was vaccinated >1 month ago) and I have both tested positive for COVID-19. 1/x
Sunday night, my partner started to have a mild cough.
We thought this was a bit suspiciousโsheโs vaccinated, we work from home, we're always extremely careful. Was this a cold? Who gets a cold these days?
Monday morning, her cough worsened. Headache. Time to get tested. 2/x
We find a local testing center. We get tested within 5-10 minutes.
We are told results would be available in 1-2 days, and that if it's negative--but we have symptoms--we should seek another test to confirm.
We go home, prepared to self-isolate for 14 days. 3/x
