RetroNAS is a tool to convert a Raspberry Pi, old computer or VM into a multi-system, retro focused NAS. It can connect to LOTS of things. Read this thread to find out more, or check the wiki: github.com/danmons/retron…
#MiSTerFPGA is probably the one most people know, but it's only the tip of the iceberg. However if you have many systems including MiSTer, RetroNAS can help you share between them: github.com/danmons/retron…
Do you enjoy retro computing? Windows 95 can't connect to Windows 10 any more, with SMB1 deprecated. But Windows 95 can share files with RetroNAS, and anything else connected to it: github.com/danmons/retron…
What about MS-DOS or @freedosproject ? We've got you covered. RetroNAS supports EtherDFS for lightweight, non-IP file sharing over Ethernet. All you need is a packet driver on your client: github.com/danmons/retron…
PS2 as well. OpenPS2Loader can talk to RetroNAS and load games directly from it's shares via SMB1: github.com/danmons/retron…
Or Nintendo 3DS (and 2DS) with homebrew. Use RetroNAS to automatically generate QR codes, use the FBI homebrew installer to install games over WiFi: github.com/danmons/retron…
Do you love @GOGcom DRM-free PC gaming? I do too! You can use RetroNAS to back up your entire GOG library for offline use, and share with your old PCs! github.com/danmons/retron…
Do you love retro computing but find browsing websites is difficult on old browsers? Try WebOne, an amazing proxy that converts new "Web 2.0" code into old "Web 1.0" code for old computers: github.com/danmons/retron…
Let's not forget Macs. MacOSX? Sure. Classic OS8 and 9? Sure. What about Apple II GS running GS/OS System 7? Yup, that works too:
Mac lovers get to choose between Netatalk3 for OSX era computing, or Netatalk2 for classic Mac: github.com/danmons/retron…
And the rest. Telnet, HTTP 1.0 and 1.1, FTP, TFTP, EtherDFS, AppleTalk/AFP, Bonjour, LANman, NTLMv1 and v2, SMB v1, v2, v3, NFS v2, v3, v4, and so many more. Check the wiki often! github.com/danmons/retron…
"Is that it?". No, not even close. I'm thinking arcade systems, network booting of PC and arcade systems, pppd over serial for old computers, audio cassette support, ISO/CHD compressor, DreamPi and dialup moderm support and SO MUCH MORE I WANT TO DO. github.com/danmons/retron…
Of course I meant System 6 here, my apologies.

Raspberry Pi OS 64bit is now official and out of beta. Limited to RPi3, RPi4 and Zero2W hardware only. Performance gains are worth it. I benchmarked 650 MAME games and saw 10-17% increases on average between 32 and 64bit. stickfreaks.com/misc/raspberry…
RetroNAS is devloped on 64bit RPiOS, and I build MAME binaries for both 32 and 64bit RPiOS. Download them here to test for yourself if you like: stickfreaks.com/mame/
