The Jiangs were founded by a wandering cultivator- Jiang Chi. However, before he called himself Jiang, he was Uchiha.

He traveled far from what had once been his home, but tragedy followed the Uchiha like a stray dog, begging for scraps

And he would never had founded a Sect, but his strength attracted students. Those students became companions and friends. And well, there wasn't much an Uchiha wouldn't do for a friend if asked (repeatedly, over and over again, until they pestered him into saying yes)

And so once again, there was a budding Uchiha Clan.

And Jiang Chi encouraged his friends (disciples now) to do as he says, and not as he does.

He didn't want the second coming of the Uchiha.

He encouraged them to make friends -and they were annoyingly persistent

and even more annoyingly friendly, they had no problem making themselves likable to a great majority of budding Sects.

And these foolish disciples of his always tried their best, always attempted the impossible

(And what was more impossible than an Uchiha with a happy ending?)

Jiang Chi, unbeknownst to many, sealed his children's eyes. The Uchiha were dead, and he would be the last.

And without the eyes, the Uchiha were just another pretty, fair skinned family with dark eyes and wild hair.

And that worked, for many many generations, that seal was passed from father to son, mother to daughter.

But as great as that seal was, it's been a very long time. And time weakens all the great things with enough distance.

And maybe, if there had been no war, and maybe, if there had been no massacre, and maybe, if the young heir had been a bit older, with pathways less malleable, none of this would have mattered.

But there was and he wasn't, so our story starts with a tragedy

and ends with a doublebedged victory.

LP was in flames.

YMJD dead- from the waves of arrows, from the unending forward assault

JC was caught somewhere between terror and rage and shock, his entire body burning on autopilot.

He caught side of one of his shidi's,

That just started cultivating, and his eyes burned (with unshed tears, he thinks later)

And when his mother, his fierce, beautiful mother, kisses his forehead and gives him zidian, he thinks his head might explode from the migraine building behind his eyes

(Wwx will think back, and vividly remember the scarlet eyes of his baby brother.

A trick of the light.

A reflection of the flames burning YMJ.

Surely.)

Later, when the rage and the sorrow had- not left, receded- leaving JC hollowed out. His soul ached, as if it had been yanked out of his nose and left nothing behind.

(His eyes burned- a never ending migraine- *from the grief*)

And when he made his split second decision

to sacrifice himself for his brother, and was drug before WC on the LP throne...

his eyes were crimson, pinwheels spinning- weeping blood down his cheeks.

WC, a coward, was spooked. No whip, no mocking, no- he ordered WZL to deal with this, this, demon spawn

And WZL, who had killed the mother and then the father, who was a sword for the Wen, did not hesitate.

JC, bloody eyes spinning, arms bound behind his back, chest-core- exposed was at the mercy of the Core Melting Hand.

And then, WZL made a mistake.

Hand outstretched, WZL locked eyes with the young Jiang heir - and froze.

redredredRedREdREDpainpainpainPAIN grubby fingers tearing into his eye sockets and *pulling* a sword stabbing and stabbing and stabbing his core twisting inside out and it burned out to nothing- over

and over

A life time in a moment. A lie. And yet, as WZL gasped, pulling back from JC, so very very real.

Memories long past, buried with time dug up as fresh wounds. His soul, raked open, the grief and pain so very real.

And for the first time in a long time,

he was Zhou ZhuLiu once more.

And promptly lost the contents of his stomach.

"A demon, the Jiang have demon blood in their veins. He is too dangerous to kill"

If WZL, their strongest, would not face him, then there was no choice.

And JC, bound and beaten, was thrown into

his own prison. And JC kept his core.

And JC, who had watched as WZL prepared to melt his core, watched his Qi move through his pathways in strange eddys and ripples, knew that information was burned into his eyes.

And he knew, that with practice, he could do it too.
