NYT: Jan 6 committee is borrowing techniques from federal prosecutions with tactics typically used against mobsters and terrorists as it seeks to break through stonewalling from Trump and his allies and develop evidence that could prompt a criminal case. nytimes.com/2022/02/05/us/…
I feel this is rather low risk. In fact the investigation has already produced compelling new information?
Kind of threatening remarks from Brand, who no matter his own party affiliation represents a former Trump White House official. Is he aware of other threats of retaliation being made against the committee?
This comparison feels like a category error to me. Yes, they are both congressional investigations; but the subject of the investigations is rather different.

Background reading #1: @carter_sherman's story, which recounts an incident in Horizon, Facebook's virtual environment: “Within 60 seconds of joining—I was verbally and sexually harassed,” said a woman who joined the service: vice.com/en/article/3ab…
@carter_sherman Background reading #2: Hannah Murphy's report on an internal memo on Facebook's approach to trust and safety in the 'metaverse' from November:
Imagine Donald Trump pardoning the people that bludgeoned the police, the men that had an armory of weapons in Arlington, the men and women that sought to kill his own Vice President.
It's important to note that leaders of the Oathkeepers and other extremists were deeply angry that Trump failed to pardon everyone involved in January 6. I think these statements gave to be read as directed at them- mending the relationship.
