Emails we obtained, reported on by @politico, suggest that Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas has communicated regularly with Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis.

On June 10, 2021, Justice Thomas’s wife, Ginni Thomas, reached out to DeSantis’ scheduling office to invite him to speak to a “coalition” of “conservative patriots.” ImageImage
Thomas explained that the governor would know her because she had interviewed him years before and because her “husband has been in contact with him too on various things of late.”
Ginni Thomas said the “cone of silence coalition” of “about 83 national leaders” was formerly known as Groundswell and included former White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows among its attendees.
Ginni Thomas has recently faced increased scrutiny about her ties to conservative groups while her husband serves on the Supreme Court.

The @washingtonpost reported that the Biden admin. urged USPS to reconsider its plans for Oshkosh Defense to build a new fleet of gas-fueled mail trucks.

We obtained records highlighting the gap between the plan & USPS’s environmental evaluation criteria.

We obtained the original evaluation criteria that USPS used to select a new fleet manufacturer. The criteria explicitly mentioned fuel efficiency and a “path to alternate fuel vehicles” among the factors USPS would be considering.
Oshkosh Defense’s design drew criticism for not going far enough in making the agency’s fleet more environmentally friendly.

We obtained fake electoral certificates submitted by Trump supporters in seven states.

New memos obtained by the @nytimes reveal an early outline of the plan for Trump supporters to create these fake certificates in states that Biden won.

This week, we also published memos that show legislative leaders in Arizona and Wisconsin
apparently sought legal advice about whether their legislatures could change slates of electors after the election.

Ultimately, Arizona and Wisconsin were two of the seven states that submitted fake electoral slates to Congress as part of an effort to overturn the results of the 2020 election. You can see these fake certificates here:

We’re investigating Texas’ election “audit.” In Sept. 2021, the Texas secretary of state’s office announced a “full forensic audit” of the 2020 election in four counties — just hours after former President Trump publicly asked Gov. Abbott to do so.

Trump’s demand for the investigation in Texas came nearly a year after he won the state by a 5.6 percent margin. The “audit” has focused on results in Dallas, Harris, Tarrant, and Collin counties, all of which except Collin were won by Joe Biden.
We have submitted over a dozen public records requests that ask for the release of communications concerning the audit from the offices of the secretary of state, governor, attorney general, and more.

NEW: Shortly before Trump supporters submitted fake electoral certificates to Congress, leaders in Wisconsin and Arizona apparently sought legal advice about whether their legislatures could affect the selection of electors after the election took place.

Arizona Senate President Karen Fann and Wisconsin Assembly Speaker Robin Vos both received memos confirming that state lawmakers cannot alter electors’ selection or actions after an election — a strategy that Trump allies had floated after the 2020 election.
It isn’t clear whether Fann or Vos sought the guidance in furtherance of such a plan or whether it was to dismiss calls from the Trump campaign and members of their own party to take action to overturn the popular vote in their states.
