We’re going to a place I know you don’t want to. Just know we are going there together. The year is 2017 and one week after inauguration, trump has tweeted about 3m ‘illegal’ votes. Stay with me on this one. A wee thread on Election Integrity🧵👇🏻 Image
Ok, when trump was still thought to be responsible enough for a twitter account, he sent out a post about 3 million illegal votes. I tell you that to tell you this:
The source of inspiration for that tweet may have been a Gregg Phillips from AL,MS & TX.

theatlantic.com/politics/archi… Image
I provided the above 👆🏻link to an article written by the Atlantic’s Vann Newkirk in January of 2017. The pic 👆🏻is from a Guardian article. The pertinent part was highlighted for you, but I’m a visual person so here 👇🏻is a clip of Gregg Phillips on CNN.

As you saw in the clip, Phillips is the founder of an app called VoteStand that allows users to report voter fraud. Remember, the clip is from 2017. He is claiming voter fraud in an election trump won, he gives no details, no evidence, and he calls on AG Sessions to do stuff.
Remember AG Sessions was the first to endorse trump and is from Alabama. Voting integrity has been a focus of Phillips. He began his crusade to find voter fraud in AL. He *really* wanted to find voter fraud. So much so that he may have been registered to vote in 3 States. 🤦🏼‍♂️ Image
As time went on, Phillips became affiliated with the Tea Party (natch), and issued a $1m bounty for information implicating the IRS in a targeting scandal against something called ‘True the Vote’.(📌1) Image
True the Vote is a group who wants you to know they
✌🏻support election code reforms in your state.✌🏻

<shivers> Why did I read that as voter suppression?

True the Vote, as you saw above, was founded by a Catherine Engelbrecht.(📌2) Election Integrity is important to TTV, too. Image
Ok. We can begin to make our way back to 2022 now. But of course we have to stop and talk about the 2020 election. Specifically, Election Integrity. You may recall there were a number of lawsuits about that election. But I’m not talking about Sidney Powell or Rudy Giuliani’s.
I’m talking about this one. The same day Sidney et al filed 🦑, a GOP donor from North Carolina named Frederic Eshelman filed suit against True the Vote for failure to comply with an Election Integrity project he says he funded with 2.5m of his dollars. s3.documentcloud.org/documents/2041…
In his suit he alleges that True the Vote did not provide him with updates as to how their plan was going. The plan was a multi-pronged plan to investigate, litigate and expose suspected balloting and voter fraud in the 2020 election.🤔
Let’s look at the plan. Image
‘Validate the Vote 2020’ was the name given to the plan outlined by True the Vote. Here it is.

Man if this doesn’t sound like what Sidney and Rudy were doing, huh?

And because you’re the sharpest followers on Twitter, you may just spot a familiar name… ImageImage
That’s right, our pal, the voter fraud app maker, who may have served as trump’s muse for 2016 election fraud claims, is running point to ‘aggregate and analyze data to identify patterns of election subversion’ in 2020 along side True the Vote with his company called OpSec Group.
Take a deep breath and relax, because that’s not what this thread is building to.

OpSec? Isn’t that short for Operational Security like a military or intelligence agency might use? Weird, but hey, people can name their Election Integrity company anything they want I suppose.
Anyway, in the lawsuit against True the Vote, we learn that it may have been decided by True the Vote to abandon 4 of their pending litigations…

🗣🎙’in concert with lawyers from the trump campaign.’

<cough> sorry…what? Image
Now let’s let that sink in. If this is true, True the Vote had to have been in contact with someone from the trump campaign’s team of lawyers. Who? What was said? How did they come to an agreement to abandon their own litigation? Was any information exchanged?
With so many questions to ask, let’s start with did True the Vote actually bring any litigation in accordance with their Validate the Vote 2020 plan? As it turns out, their plan also listed their lawyer Jim Bopp so we should be able to see and…
Yep.
Here’s one in Michigan. What do you think the theme of that case was? You guessed it. Certification of the election.

TTV also filed lawsuits in WI, GA, and PA. Each had a flavor of the kraken. Overturn the result here, illegal voting there.

electioncases.osu.edu/wp-content/upl… ImageImageImage
Now, back to where we sort of began for a wee recap. The guy that was so interested in voter fraud that he was registered to vote in 3 States, is running OpSec with a group working in concert with trump campaign lawyers, that is being funded by a GOP donor for Election Integrity.
A donor who sued to get his 2.5m bills back because True the Vote yielded their cases to trump’s campaign lawyers.
Speaking of money, 📌1 was about that 1 million dollar bounty Greg Phillips put up related to the IRS. I wonder if Cleta Mitchell and John Eastman got a share? Image
Yeah…the 6-point-plan-to-overturn-the-election-memo-writing John Eastman was one of the lawyers for True the Votes 2013 case against the IRS. Another was a trump lawyer who paid disbursements to the staff who performed the AZ audit, (and friend of Ginni Thomas) Cleta Mitchell. Image
Now, if I’m seeing this right, back here in 2022, Greg Phillips, the OpSec Group guy in charge of data whose life’s mission has been finding election fraud has failed to do so. Like, Spectacularly. And this whole issue around election fraud has actually been with us since 2017.
I know the @January6thCmte has reached back as far as April 2020 with their requests for information. But seeing this larger bit of context at play, and who was involved in spreading debunked information before and who is doing it now might be important. For Election Integrity.
The GOPs Supreme Court may have just shivved the Voting Rights Act. Last month 2 Democratic Senators kept a promise they made to Mitch McConnell and would not allow a filibuster carve out for legislation. Voting legislation.

You know…🗣for ELECTION INTEGRITY!!
📌2 was about Catherine Englebrecht being the founder of True the Vote. She is also the founder of another company. This one in Texas called Election Integrity Inc. It was founded in 2012. I wonder what for. ImageImage

We are in the Both Sides Era. For what seems the past decade, we have been subjected to both sides of the news, normalizing the weird, accepting the inappropriate, and moving on from the unforgivable.
Both sides are not the same.

A wee Sunday morning coffee🧵👇🏻
We have been so conditioned to Both Sides everything that we immediately fall into one side or the other. We are sorting ourselves based on memes and shallow thinking. Reporters complaining about hotel experiences due to the DNC running late, isn’t news. That’s a yelp review.
Have you noticed trump is on both sides of every issue? Probably not, because the “press hasn’t yet learned how to report on trump.” Why is covering trump any different from what they learned in journalism school?

Why not ask him about his incongruities? Or a follow up question?

Did you ever hear the phrase: “they have so much money they don’t know what to do with it.”? Not a problem, I’ve ever run into myself, but Project 2025 is just that. Billionaires want to be bankers. They want to sell off our governmental oversight to private companies they own.
Here is Project 2025. There isn’t one part of our lives this won’t touch. Think it doesn’t mean you? There is no provision to exclude from its effects those who vote for fascism so choose your candidate wisely.

Here is the part where they will abolish the federal reserve. It will be replaced by currency they can “create” and then lend out at their own interest rates. Image

“There is no place for political violence” has been a pretty common refrain throughout the weekend. It really got me thinking. ”Political violence” must be one of those “you know it when you see it” types of things.

Let’s see…
🧵👇🏻
Political violence strikes me as a visual medium but there are so many things that occur before we see the blood that I think might be political violence. Are we just numb to it? How do we define what is political violence and what is just violence? Why is it different?
Are Texas Gov Greg Abbott’s razor balls floating in the river, considered “political violence”? Kind of. I mean, the idea is people from south of the US shouldn’t be allowed to come here and take our jobs.
Political.

To deter from this, razor balls in the river.
Violence.

There’s been a lot said about Joe Biden since the debate. I, along with so many of you, watched it play out in real time as respected news transmitters read out ‘inside texts’ from knee jerk reactionaries.
After much thought, I won’t be voting for Joe Biden because he’s old.
🧵👇🏻
I’ll be voting for Joe Biden because he’s team democracy. I’m voting for ideas he represents. I’m voting for the team of people he can put together. I’m voting for my own interests and for your ability to vote for your own interests. I didn’t vote for him last time either, btw.
In 2020, I voted for a November 5th, 2024 election. Joe Biden and Kamala Harris were the only options on the ballot that allowed this. I colored in Joe and Kamala’s bubble to keep the lights on long enough for us to have this election. Like many of you, I voted team democracy.

I am loathe to do predictions. However, there are some things you just can’t help but see coming. Project 2025 is a blinking red alarm and we all need to be aware of the stakes of this election. Please familiarize yourself with EO11246, be discriminating voters.

A wee thread🧵👇🏻
On September 24th, 1965 President Lyndon Johnson signed Executive Order 11246. EO11246 established Equal Opportunity Employment. It includes Non-Discrimination in Government. It includes Non-Discrimination Employment by Government Contractors and Subcontractors.
Focus on Non-Discrimination Employment by Government Contractors and Subcontractors. In Sub Part B under Contractor’s Agreements, contractors agree to not discriminate against employees based on race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, or national origin.

“I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States."

Trust me…
🧵👇🏻
The above is the oath the President takes at 12 noon on January 20. Typically, it is administered by the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court but there is no law that makes that a requirement. You could have your gran do it. So why is it *usually* the Chief Justice?
For this thread let’s assume the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court is there as a symbol of the law. Chief Justice Roberts in a way represents the Judicial Branch of our government on the day it grants power to the person who will symbolize the Executive Branch.
