Speaking on the Senate floor at 10:45 AM about passage of legislation I introduced with @SenGillibrand - Ending Forced Arbitration of Sexual Assault and Sexual Harassment Act.
@SenGillibrand The bipartisan legislation will prevent perpetrators from being able to push survivors of sexual harassment and sexual assault into the secretive, biased process of forced arbitration.
@SenGillibrand In addition to ending the practice, the legislation will also invalidate existing forced arbitration clauses that prevent sexual assault and sexual harassment survivors from seeking justice and public accountability under the laws meant to protect them.
@SenGillibrand We first introduced the bill in 2017, and it has since enjoyed strong support from Majority Leader Schumer, as well as from Judiciary Chair Durbin and Ranking Member Grassley.
The Senate Judiciary Committee passed the bill unanimously this past fall.

I really appreciate the counterterrorism operation authorized by President Biden and conducted in northwest Syria to kill Abu Ibrahim al-Hashimi al-Qurayshi. I applaud the efforts of those involved who killed a vicious terrorist who threatened our nation and the world at large.
This operation again shows why forward-deployed American forces, working with allies and partners on the ground, must continue to exist in troubled regions. It is imperative we hit them before they hit us.
Unfortunately, the Biden Administration is deaf, dumb & blind when it comes to the growing radical Islamic threats emerging from Afghanistan and how a completely porous and unsecured southern border presents an opportunity for terrorism to make its way back to the United States.
I appreciate Justice Breyer’s service to our nation.
He has always been a scholar and a gentleman whose record on the Supreme Court is solidly in the liberal camp.
Justice Breyer has always shown great respect for the institution and his colleagues, and I wish him well in the next phase of his life.
As to his replacement: If all Democrats hang together – which I expect they will – they have the power to replace Justice Breyer in 2022 without one Republican vote in support.
It is very disturbing to hear from the FBI they do not believe the hostage taker’s demands had anything to do with the Jewish faith.
Apparently the FBI believes the hostage taker randomly selected a synagogue to demand the release of al-Qaeda operative and facilitator Aafia Siddiqui.
I hope the FBI will reconsider the statement because it is well known that at her trial Siddiqui, also known as “Lady al-Qaeda,” was a raging anti-Semite who demanded that jurors be genetically tested for Jewish blood.
Cannot believe that the Biden Administration is so dismissive of the Iranian video suggesting the assasination of President Trump by drones.
The White House spokesperson’s response when asked was incredibly inappropriate for the gravity of the situation, and the Biden Administration needs to quickly correct.
While it is true the Ayatollah and his henchmen say crazy things, this video is not saying something crazy — it is an open and direct threat to President Trump.
