just tried using the full site block editor in WP.

i gave up after 35 min.

no. don't take away my navigation menus. how the hell do i control this thing? no menu edit screen?

i also see any navigation menus i created (wp-cli launch script) is a "classic menu" and my menu to edit/add to that nav menu is gone. awesome

cool. UI bugs that were in the block editor were NOT fixed before making THE WHOLE SITE USE THAT UI... so now with more complex block structure... we get EXPONENTIALLY MORE AWFULLNESS.

still no way to keep the outlines visible so i can see my content structure? neeeeeeaaaaaat. i really love blindly clicking on a page and wasting hours of time. and i know my clients do too. this is fun.

huh. still no interface settings like turning on text labels on the buttons so i don't have to guess or hover over every. single. icon. just to see what the hell it means?

i mean... UX faux pas number ONE: having only icons is so frustrating for users

oh look. a site-wide styles editor now.

why isn't this on the nav menu under appearance?

oh look the 'back to the dashboard' nav button (that we've gotten used to on the post/page editor to go back to the dashboard UI) on the appearance/editor screen now functions DIFFERENTLY (toggles a sidebar instead) because WHY NOT. LET'S CHANGE PATTERNS AGAIN (but just slightly)

i realize the wp-admin menu that we've had for years isn't perfect... but at least it didn't CHANGE between each screen you click on. the block editor screens overall UI is not designed for such continuity and that's not good.

KEEP. ONE. UI. AND. STICK. WITH. IT.

i can see my post in my site appearance editor.. but then i can't navigate to edit the post? sure.. i'm a designer i understand i design a template and then the posts/pages follow that. but if users see this, it is presented the same, so why can't i edit it here but i can there?

where can i lock things? why can't i navigate directly to the site template parts like the header and template parts? why do i have to go into the editor and open the HIDDEN menu? why do the three options in this menu not all behave the same? why does it dissapear all the time?

nope. this is nowhere near ready to unleash on any of my clients. i wish i could help, but every time i apply somewhere that would allow me to full-time dedicate my time on improving this UX, companies think that a back-end developer is more valuable to the WP project, not design

YES! i appreciate all the work that everyone has done to bring amazing functionality within WP core. we also need to take a step back and fix big core issues not frankenstein-ing together new features with duct tape. i know i'm a crumudgon but i want the best for this community.
