My adventures from the Wild Wild West aka Ottawa continues.Warmed up by a makeshift fire pit where I found a group of English & French Canadians finding common ground. One said if we’re coming together those guys (the politicians) either doing something right or something wrong.
More depraved stuff from the Ottawa badlands: FIREWORKS.
More disturbing images from Ottawa…I’m literally shaking.
In more disturbing news, something I’ve refrained from sharing till now, folks from Montreal have been coming to Ottawa to party…

On a day @JustinTrudeau assumes emergency powers to quell peaceful protests that he claims are violent, meet Nick, 25. He lost his job as a welder because he’s unvaccinated, can’t pay rent, and now lives on the street. He can’t go to a shelter because they won’t take his dog.
Update on Nick for those who've asked. I've just returned from trying to locate him. He's now in a hotel thanks to the generosity of a protestor who saw him on the street. I've reached out to a couple of people who're going to try to help him. Thanks for your concern and empathy.
For those who know Indian history: Justin Indira Gandhi Trudeau.
The Emergency in India was the worse violation of civil rights since the end of British rule. It still continues to haunt the party that declared the Emergency.
I wasn't yet born during the Emergency in 1975 but anyone who lived through it recalls it with great pain and anguish.
This was my assessment Jan 29, the first day of the protests. Some folks derided my assessment saying the protests would be very minor and have no impact. But here we are two weeks later...😐
Having spent part of the day and evening y'day at the protests, I was struck by how much more diverse it's become. Many more kids, seniors, people of colour, etc. On a day with an extreme cold warning (again), there were according to some news reports about 4000 people there.
A lot of people have underestimated the commitment of the protestors who've come far and wide. They're outside all day in freezing temps, can't rest up anywhere, can't go into a restaurant and have a hot meal because of the vaccine passport system.
I spoke to folks there. They say because the war memorial had been barricaded, it wasn’t being maintained by the city. They say they wanted to show their respect to the monument by cleaning the ice, snow and debris around it. Couple of videos follow.
Except in certain settings like event halls, Israelis no longer have to show their Green Passes, which show proof of vaxx or a recent negative test at restaurants, movie theaters, gyms and hotels. If Israel can do this, what's stopping Canadian provinces? timesofisrael.com/green-pass-cov…

Things have gotten so bad in Ottawa that I saw some masked young women dancing in one of the main block parties. They took their masks off while dancing. Clearly the virus behaves differently based on different moods.
You think it couldn’t get worse but it did. The crowd erupts into the national anthem.
P.S ran into Ormond Chalmers who I interviewed yesterday, belting out the national anthem. You can see him towards the end of this clip.
