....prior to its being posted publicly is unclear. A 02/14 social media posting by former DCSD school board member Steve Peck urged people to sign up for public comment at the 02/16 meeting where "the topic will be the superintendent decision...3/
....and the path forward for the district.” It also stated “Supportive public comments are important and impactful. Your attendance sends a clear message: We support this board and we are not going away.” 4/
At that time, the agenda for the meeting hadn’t been published publicly. According to Board Policy 1.8.1 “Members must have loyalty to the entire ownership, unconflicted by loyalties to staff, other organizations, including interest or advocacy groups..." 5/
However, there appears to be no evidence that the information was provided to anyone. Some board members inquired about the social media posting. Director Susan Meek received a response from board president Mike Peterson...5/
"suggesting that all directors maintain information privately until details are publicly announced." Director David Ray said: “I am disheartened by this as well as I believe ALL community members should have equal access to Board meeting agenda information at the same time... 6/

I asked the school district about the timing of Steve Peck's social media post on the agenda and their response was: 7/
“This was discussed at a previous Board meeting.” (02/08 at 3:06:00: bit.ly/3GUIDZX) President Mike Peterson stated: "We will have some special meeting coming up to be determined by directors based on availability when we can move forward on a superintendent search." 8/

The plan appears to be to post the job internally and not look outside the district so unclear if a candidate already ID'd by some board members. "Post Superintendent Job Description/Salary Internally for all district staff to applyo Post on DCSD Workday through February 21"
