Here’s an update from the Fans Forum at #Arsenal last night. A thread. #AFC
Vinai: The new signings have all settled in really well. Really disappointing to go out so early in the FA cup. Carabau Cup much better, but still frustrating to get knocked out. 1/
We are in well in contention for European places. We have got a really good chance of getting in top4, and that’s what we’re fighting for. A lot of rebuilding was done in the summer. There are plans to strengthen the club further this coming summer. We have a very clear plan. 2/
I’m not a big fan of the January window. We were focused on seeing if any of the things we wanted to do this summer could be brought forward. We were active in a number of conversations. In the end, it didn’t prove possible. Everybody is comfortable with what we have. 3/
We looked at both permanent and loans. If somebody could make a difference for us, but none of them made sense. To get this club back where it needs to be we need to make as many right decisions as we possibly can and we need to be very disciplined. 4/
On the women's side, we had a pretty active window. Renewed Leah W. Brought in 3 players. We’ve had a couple of successful games at the Emirates this season, and we’re planning to have the NLD in March there as well. 5/
Jack Wilshere is training with the first team, he is also doing a lot of work with Per in the academy. There are no plans to integrate him into the first team, but it’s been fantastic to have him around. 6/
Stadium investments going on. Work in progress about:
-repairing and replacing the roof
-replacing the banners outside the stadium (with a fan working group)
-replacing the stadium crests
-upgrade/replace all turnstile readers (getting in quicker)
-replacing the lightboxes 7/
Coming this summer:
- replacing both screens (bigger and much higher quality)
- increase in General Admission perch spaces

In development with no committed timeline yet:
- replacing the PA system
- increase mobile phone connectivity
8/
Please do keep feeding back. We are listening. We are trying to prioritize the projects that are important to our fans. If there is anything missing, please let us know. We are looking to see if there is a way that we can put solar panels on the roof. 9/
(MG about Amazon) The way the club behaves will be portrayed in an incredibly powerful way, and that was the main reason we signed up for this. To show the world how this amazing machine called Arsenal works. It will give everybody an insight that they have hitherto never had.10/
There is nothing other than love and admiration for Arsène. He is always welcome here. There aren’t any plans for a formal role for him. 11/
There was quite a discussion about Arsenal's partnership with Socios. As one rep said:
"There is nothing about Socios that I think represents what I believe The Arsenal represents. The fact that our name is linked to them makes me absolutely sick." 12/
This concerns me a lot. I'm worried that Arsenal don't take our objection to Socios seriously. It left me quite disappointed. That is obviously my opinion, but I can't write this without mentioning it. 13/
The meeting went on for almost 2½ hours, so many more things were talked about, but these were my highlights. The next meeting will probably be around the end of the season, and Josh Kroenke should be at that meeting. 14/14

Notes from the Fans Forum @Arsenal last night.
Vinai: Last season was a disappointment. That was the starting point for the transfer window. We wanted to fill our squad with some of Europe’s most exciting young talent, and let them grow & develop with players from Hale End.
Vinai: We signed 6 players between 21 and 23. All of them are players with plenty of experience and plenty of character. We also renewed contracts for Tierney & ESR. All 8 players have been signed on very long contracts.
Vinai: An exceptionally busy window. 7 first-team players + countless academy players left on loan. We agreed mutually with Willian to terminate his contract. 21 deals in the men's first team - 57 deals in total including women and academy.

A few points from the Fans Forum at Arsenal tonight.
Vinai: The transfer window wasn’t like a normal TW. Dramatic COVID impact. Outgoing was difficult leaving too many players and a difficult decision. #AFC
Vinai: Despite all the stories, it was a technical decision from Arteta & his technical staff to leave out Papa & Ozil. + Saliba from EL. Purely on sporting criteria.
Vinai: We made another significant investment, following on from significant investments over the last two summers. To get this club back to competing where we want to be.
