Friends, a delegation from Campaign Against Hate Speech today went to @publictvnews office to discuss their objectionable coverage of the #Hijab issue. We wanted to meet with the editor or senior journalists to ask them questions about their coverage.
However, we were denied entry into the office citing COVID protocols. Three reporters came one by one to meet us and tell us that they can't speak on behalf of the channel's coverage. When we asked to meet the editors, they refused and said no one was available.
We then asked them to receive our letter and give us an acknowledgement that they have received it but they refused to do that as well. They instead asked us to send a legal notice after which they would reply to it.
This instance has left us very disappointed. Is the only way to speak to news channels through lawyers? As viewers do we not have access to editors to register our grievances? Does @publictvnews not want to speak to the public?
