hi everyone. recently i was threatened with harm and doxxing by benjamin bosmans verdonk of the @IlliniMBB and over the past two months of me attempting to go the proper route (school, police, etc.) i have been met with nothing but dismissal and corruption.

this all occurred on the back of me going out to visit him, being left alone for hours in his apt, being berated by him / called fat and ugly, and put in incredibly uncomfortable and seemingly unsafe scenarios (to the extent i was making distress calls to @NickyChulo).

though a percentage of this trip was mutual arguments (that i fully participated in), a line was crossed to immediate escalation, when he threatened me.

that is why the school, campus police, title ix, etc. were involved.

i requested a ‘no contact’ order from the school (uiuc) but was denied it and told that what I perceive as blatant threats were “protected under free speech.”

(in the meantime ben’s had his friends, coaches, and family monitor all my social media and contact me on his behalf)

the campus “police” “investigating” this alongside the school also, instead of pursuing the threats i received, said they would sue me + take this to the media (???) should i pursue this further, as an intimidation tactic (in my opinion).

The school agreed that the coaches failed to report this situation to Title IX, but found Ben not in violation of student code. odd.

this is the code, i think threatening to dox my address (which gets people swatted), send people to my home, and other threats, violate that.

there are a plethora of other corrupt occurrences throughout my correspondence with @uofiadmissions but i think the bigger conversation here is how aggressively collegiate institutions will fight to protect athletes (& co.) when they are clearly in the wrong. VERY scary.

when i reached out to the school etc. about this the goal was for them to correct the behavior with a conversation with him, and perhaps provide me with some peace of mind that my address wouldn’t be leaked (though now if it happens we at least have a suspect).

they did not want to do that, and instead attempted to weaponize every resource they have against me, to (in my opinion) scare me out of wanting that accountability and peace of mind.

imagine what they do to quiet instances of rape or other categories of assault.

there have been other women who have reached out to me about ben specifically, and other members of the mens bball team - who for their safety i will not include.

but please know this is not a new issue & for the safety of myself and others deserves public conversation.

I was very apprehensive about posting this, but i cant brush off someone blatantly threatening me, an entire institution seemingly supporting said behavior, & contributing to a culture where people can do this to others.

note: do not harass anyone mentioned or associated with this thread.

i won’t entertain many arguments of this nature - though am fine to respond to skepticism - but this is why people do not come forward.

what “attention” exactly, would i be seeking from this. none of it has been positive. he is also a completely random person to many.

actually cackling at the fact they keep reposting him to pretend nothing is going on, instead of just addressing the situation 😭 y’all are a mess. @IlliniMBB
