Overall it's a method that can be very profitable at the right times, but it requires you to know what's going on with the crabada metagame & market
Quick definition, in my view there are two types of breeders
The majority is type 1: hold eggs until they hatch. These breeders take on more risk than those making quick flips, but the rewards can also be handsome
This thread mainly focusses on those longer term breeders
For breeding pures, you would say the simplest way to start as a small breeder is with 2 crabs, breed 2 more, have them breed two more etc
Unfortunately it's not that easy, since breeding with parents and siblings isn't allowed π
Luckily for us... there's a work around. I'll refer to South Park's description of this method:
The more commonly used name for this method is actually ABC. There's a great in-depth guide on the @FiefGuild website written by @0xBoond and @Best_coder_NA on the topic which I recommend you check out:
If we take a deeper look at the risks involved with breeding we can divide it into two parts if we simplify a bit:
- $TUS price risk
- Price of crabs in $TUS
While there are many factors which influence this, the current meta game is the most crucial to understand
As a general way of calculating whether a breeding strategy is profitable you simply add up the costs and make some estimates of selling prices
I like to denominate this all in TUS, but it's simple enough to do this in dollars too
The meta game has recently been shaken up a ton with the factions patch
Where 711 bulk teams used to reign there is a lot more diversity in which teams are worth using right now, and as a result the prices of classes like gems, primes, craboids have skyrocketed
It's very important to consider the total populations of crabs, since that is one of the largest determinants of price. There are simply way more bulks than other crabs out there, which is why they are cheaper right now
Also others such as organic are extremely hard to come by
Don't forget that all of this is still only concerning the idle game
The battle game is set to launch in March, so breeding crabs which you think will be strong for the battle game is also becoming a more and more attractive option
Time for some specific examples. Remember that these prices were accurate at the time of writing, but probably won't be when you read this
Another general tip is to keep an eye on the market and wait a while to see if you can score some cheap virgin crabs, or eggs as parents
That concludes this thread. I hope it will be helpful to some of you in starting off your journey as a breedoooor
I look forward to seeing you all on the battlefields of the battle game in a months time. Gl out there fellow crabs
A π§΅about the current @PlayCrabada meta, the shaky $CRA & $TUS market and looting
I believe there is absolutely no reason to panic if you trust the team (which I do, they have delivered consistently from day 1) π¦
Strap in for a LONG one: my views on the meta and its history π
Looting and bots have been a highly debated topic on the Crabada discord the past few days
Looting has always been more profitable than mining or renting by design. It requires more effort, but since we're all in this to make money, many of us would like to loot
This has generally resulted in there being more looters (or potential looters) than miners at any given time. If at any time there would be open mines, people would start looting to earn a better ROI
A short timeline on looting, bots & how they created 'the meta':
People often ask me how to get into @PlayCrabada & if it's already too late.
The answer to the second question is fuck no. Main game hasn't even launched, subnet is coming, CONSTANT updates & new content.
For the first question, I'm starting a thread with a few strategies π¦β¬οΈ
I will update this thread over time with in depth explanations & calculations for each method.
The main ways to get some exposure to $CRA $TUS @PlayCrabada I'll go into will be the following: 1. The miner 2. The renter 3. The staker 4. The flipper
First up is the miner π
Quick calcs for 3 possible strats:
A team of pure bulks is the most profitable, and also the most chill, since you never lose and don't have to reinforce
At current $CRA & $TUS prices make your money back in just more than a month π€― After that you're free rolling
