While Kotick was a student in 1983 at the University of Michigan,he started a tech company called Arktronics w/ friend Howard Marks in their dorm room. The 2 developed software for the Apple II. During his sophomore year, Kotick met & pitched Steve Wynn to invest in Arktronics.
Wynn later invested $300,000 in the company. Steve Jobs heard about Arktronics' software. He met w/ Kotick & Marks in Ann Arbor & advised them to drop out of college to focus on software business. Kotick took advice & left the University of Michigan to focus on his company.
Kotick dated Sheryl Sandberg from 2016 to 2019. 😏
