Sen. Tolentino: It will not directly address the issue of underemployment, but what it aims to promote or restore is the dignity of the worker.

Cortez: Kapag worker ka sa farm, seven to eight hours ang kino-konsumo. Sa isang linggo, anim na araw ang ginugugugol ng mga magsasaka.

Cortez: Hindi sasapat 'yung kita ng mga worker natin dahil napakababa ng rate, lalo na dito sa Negros.

Cortez: Dito sa Negros, 'yung mga maliliit na magsasaka, kulang ang lupa dito. Walang subsidy ng gobyerno natin ang mga magsasaka. Napakataas ang input na ginagamit, 'yung binhi na binibili ay napakataas [ang presyo].

Cortez: Hindi ang angkop ang programa ng DA natin, parang bina-baby ang mga farmer na maghintay na lang kung may ibibigay na abono. Pero kung wala, paano ang farmer?

Warren: It's a correlation with the vibrant BPO industry in the country as more people get used to working from home, working remotely.

Warren: A lot of younger people go into whether freelancing or entrepreneurship. There are a lot of reasons. The first is attractive economics. The Asia average of these per hour rates is $22.

Warren: Once you start working with multiple clients across industries, you're a business owner.

Warren: We see freelancers going from individuals that are part-time to full-time, then ultimately to business owners.

Warren: IT, programming, graphic design can be done part-time.

What are the top freelance jobs?

Warren: There are many, many skills that are on demand globally. We're seeing a lot of demand for virtual assistants, customer support, graphic design, web design.

Warren: We're also seeing a rising demand for marketing services, finance and accounting services.
