Last night, after receiving hundreds of hateful & anti-Semitic emails and DMs following a right wing smear campaign, members of MeidasTouch were the target of death threats. The perpetrator made dozens of phone calls to us, our family members and our significant others. 1/

This is what the GQP views as “legitimate political discourse.” Rather than voice their ideas, the natural instinct of GQPers is to terrorize their political opponents and their families. This is not OK and we do not take it lightly. 2/

We will be filing reports as appropriate with local and federal law enforcement agencies. As we near the midterms, we expect these vile threats to ramp up. Let us be clear: we will not back down. We will never give up. We will fight back against these anti-democratic forces. 3/3

Do you think we coordinated with Joni Mitchell and Neil Young? Do you think we coordinated w/ 270 scientists who wrote their letter about Rogan's COVID disinformation? Do you think we edited the Rogan compilation that first hit the Internet in 2019, a year before we existed? 2/

Have you listened to our podcast where we actually recommended we don't try to 'cancel' and 'silence' voices, but should instead engage and compete against them? Have you looked through our feed to see that we never advocated for canceling Rogan or boycotting Spotify? 3/

The right wing media is engaging in a coordinated attack on MeidasTouch because we… retweeted a video of Joe Rogan saying bad things?

They deflect and lie because they know the statements they are defending are indefensible. We will never back down from holding truth to power.

Rather than admit the truth, they created a scapegoat in us to try to blame the messenger. We didn’t even edit the Rogan video or call for Rogan to be ‘cancelled,’ yet suddenly we are the ‘deep state cabal’ who orchestrated some sort of highly sophisticated attack.

Ironically, they are trying to ‘cancel’ MeidasTouch because we retweeted a video that made them look bad. And our reach and our impact terrifies them.

More from the article: Gaetz was more than twice the age his victim. The witness named in the piece is “Big Joe” Ellicott, Gaetz's wingman who pleaded guilty and agreed to cooperate per today's earlier reports.

Greenberg confirmed the victim was underage by searching the teen’s personal information in the Florida state drivers’ license database, which he had access to as a local tax collector. He provided federal prosecutors with not only the date he made the search, but the timestamp.
