READ: DepEd disqualifies Ei2 Tech, Inc., owned by TV personality Paolo Bediones, from bidding in the P654-million DepEd TV Phase 2 project @DZMMTeleRadyo@ABSCBNNews
In a letter addressed to Bediones and partner Radenta Technologies Inc., DepEd's Procurement Management Service said "the Bidder failed to justify the 'withdrawal of the key personnel of Ei2 Tech, Inc.’s production team.'"
Andres Bonifacio Jr., a former executive producer under Ei2 Tech., Inc., said they have "expected" the disqualification of Bediones' bid in the project, but expressed dismay that the production company is only being disqualified to bid in this particular project
In response, DepEd Usec. Alain Pascua said the blacklisting process is "not automatic"
Pascua: The Bid and Awards Committee has just recently decided to disqualify on the ground of non-compliance sa requirements of public bidding. The situation will have to be evaluated on whether there is sufficient legal basis to support the commencement of a blacklisting process
ABS-CBN News has requested for a statement from Bediones but he has not responded to date
Aside from the alleged falsification of documents, about a hundred former contractors of Ei2 Tech will also file a complaint vs Bediones for allegedly failing to give their salaries - some either delayed or unpaid, ranging from 1 to 8 months worth of compensation per person
