Why not, let's take a look at some of the plays from the Purdue Rutgers game below #boilerup

Great start to the game. Rutgers looked to go at Edey early to try and draw a foul. Edey moves his feet a lot better than most bigs realize. A huge play from Ivey that got him going early. He forced his way to the rim, and had the crafty euro to finish

Hunter gets through the screen, but Sasha gets backdoored. Gillis helps way in looking to tag Omoruyi, but there was no need to with Edey right there. It left Harper open who seemed like he was destined to have another big game at this moment

This is a great pass by Ivey. He gets Edey's man to commit to him, and then lobs one to get it to Edey going to the basket. Ivey forced Edey to go to the basket with where he put the pass, resulting in an easy 2

It does not seem like a good idea to me to let someone get a wide open dunk. Edey is at the level of the screen, so Ivey has to rotate to at least be near the roller. Then Hunter would drop some and be responsible for two

Rutgers goes Spain PnR. Gillis does a good job contesting the pass because otherwise that was an easy 2. In transition, Ivey has so much gravity that two guys commit to him, leaving a 47% three point shooter wide open in Gillis. Great read again by Ivey

When Ivey is aggressive this offense can be unstoppable. Harper stays with him, but Ivey crosses over and gets a step, forcing help. He once again made the right read. Rutgers chose to leave a 43% shooter to help on Ivey, and IT is shooting around 60% on open 3s

Ivey did the thing where he realizes he can stay in front of most people! When there is no breakdown off the dribble, then Purdue does not overhelp can forces a bad shot

Two parts to this that I think relate
1.) Trevion knocks down the three because why not
2.) This gets everyone going and then Purdue has a great defensive possession. Ivey and IT communicate on the baseline switch, and Sasha fights to get through the screen, drawing the foul

We all obviously expected Trevion to go cross, behind the back into a step back from 15 feet and make it

Rutgers was slipping a lot of screens which I think works to Purdue's advantage. It allows Hunter to stay with his guy better and force a contested mid range shot

I'd love to see Ivey get a lot more high ball screens like this, especially against drop coverage. It will basically give him a runway. He'll already be at close to full speed by the time the big man has to try and guard him

Purdue played great defense for 25 seconds. Watch Hunter and Sasha. Harper and Mag switch spots, and Hunter calls for him and Sasha to switch. Sasha turns his head to the ball for half a second and Harper does a good job finding the open spot on the floor

I mentioned before Rutgers running a lot of slips could help Purdue because the guard can stay connected better. That only works if the big is able to drop enough. Trevion stays up more, and Omoruyi has no one near him to contest the lob

When Ivey is engaged this defense is solid. Him and Hunter do a good job keeping everything in front of them in the corner, switching multiple times that eventually forced a foul call
*The refs randomly decided to call that a moving screen. That happens 50% of plays on every team

Ivey has an explosive level that no one in college basketball can get to. Purdue breaks the press and it seems like they will slowly get into their offense, and everyone on both teams is kind of standing around. I assume this was on purpose to allow Ivey to do THAT. What a dunk!!

Great play design to get either a Gillis 3 or an Edey dunk. Edey's man commits to the corner so Edey has a wide open roll to the basket

Gillis should have just threw the first pass and I think Edey would have gotten 2 points. The only player that dove on the floor was 7'4 Edey, saving the play. That's hustle right there

If this was two months ago, Hunter does not keep his dribble alive. He has been playing so well and so confident however that he keeps his dribble alive here and ends up finding Edey for the easy two points

Rutgers slips and Ivey stays completely in front of Mulcahy, forcing him to get caught in the air

20 seconds before this Sasha missed a wide open 3 (Edey got the board). I love the confidence Sasha always has as a shooter, and the confidence Purdue has in him. He just missed one of his most wide open shots on the year, but they go right back to him and he knocks it down

Edey playing higher up, and he can move his feet well enough. He does a good job staying in front and forcing Harper to retreat. This allows Purdue to be in good spots on defense. Sasha fouled, but he was trying to be in the passing lane, so Purdue is fine with that @PurdueWilkie

This is what Ivey had been missing the past two games. He just wills his way towards the rim, and he can elevate so high that he can make plays happen. This bucket gave Purdue an 11-0 run to start the second half

Purdue doubles the post up (which I get but idk if it was necessary here). Ivey does fine staying with the big at first, but then Hunter is not able to drop quick enough. Just a tough rotation in general for Purdue, especially with Mulcahy being short corner

The off ball movement before Trevion gets the ball creates confusion for Rutgers. Gillis finds the opening in the defense and Trevion hits him for the layup. Gillis just seems to always know where to be on offense

Hunter does a great job cutting off Baker and forcing him into a step back mid range shot. Purdue wants that shot every single time.

I get Rutgers scored here, but even this possession I liked. Ivey commits to the double team and they come close to forcing a turnover. Hunter recovers to force the dribble and Furst is there to somewhat contest a mid rang pull-up

Rutgers was lazy getting back and Purdue took advantage. Just an easy pass to Trevion who immediately finds the open Furst rolling to the basket

Edey once again doing a great job playing at the level. Hunter tags the roller, and Baker has to go super high to give Harper an outlet. This allows Hunter to recover. Ball goes in the post and Purdue doubles forcing Omoruyi baseline. Edey gets the block and Purdue gets the board

If Ivey tags Omoruyi here, the lob probably does not work

The fact that you could make the legit argument that Purdue has the two best passing big men in the Big Ten is kinda wild and something I did not expect. This was one of Edey's best reads and passes on the year. He puts it right where Gillis can get it, and he did it quick too

Edey plays great drop coverage again, forcing the kickout. Sasha does enough to recover in the paint, and Edey has great post defense

I *think* this was not zone and it was just Purdue recognizing Rutgers wanted to run a Spain pick and roll and were wanting to blow it up before it even started

Ghost screen here by Rutgers. The way Purdue defends screens really exposes them when there are ghost screens. Hunter is expecting the screen and starts forcing Mulcahy that way. No contact happens so Ivey does not know if it is a switch or not, and Mulcahy gets an open lane

Why not! What a way to cap off the game
It made me laugh seeing Trevion notice the wide open Ivey as he caught the ball, but he dribbled once to set up the behind the back pass
