~To combat disinformation~

If you are spreading the following:

1- There is an American coup in Ukraine.

2- This invasion is about America funding Nazis in Ukraine to terrorize Russia.

3- Russians are an "oppressed minority" in Ukraine.

This is Russian propaganda. STOP.

I have seen too many well-meaning Western leftists insisting you can't possibly understand the present situation.

The present is rapidly evolving, yes.

But please don't pretend the history of Russian imperialism in Ukraine isn't extremely well-documented.

Please do not spread calls for funding of paramilitary organizations in Ukraine either.

Check the donation cards you RT to make sure they are focused on helping vulnerable people affected by war, NOT privately-organized militias with indirect ties to actual Neo-Nazi groups.

I wish I could communicate how bleak this situation looks for historically oppressed minorities in Ukraine.

I support Ukrainian independence.

I also fear the climate that makes it impossible to talk about Ukraine's systemic failings without it being labeled Russian propaganda.

I have to put on a smile today.

I have writing to do. Art to make. A crowdfunding campaign to promote.

My ancestors were hardy people and so am I. But this is hard. Very hard. And despite the smile, I am not okay.

With this whole campaign underway, I thought I might finally talk about one of my greatest challenges in making Experience Points:

Writing about the role of a healthy relationship in trauma recovery ~without~ making sex and romance seem like a magic fix.

From Matt's bad ex stories to the MC’s anxiety-driven inner monologues, the reader gets glimmers of insight into the baggage they’ve hauled into this new relationship.

Both characters are a little world-weary, but for very different reasons.

The story never dwells on their past. It never gives a full rundown of their damage from start to finish. But it’s always there in the background.

A slight wince.

An awkwardly-worded question that asks the wrong thing.

An unspoken insecurity.
