Very sad news that one SAPS member that was wounded during yesterdays #Rosettenville gun fight has passed on. RIP. #CITRobbery
Bheki Cele has his facts wrong. He says many of the firearms seized by SAPS after the gun fight were state issued. According to sources, this is not true. Only one firearm that was seized was state issues, namely an R4 rifle. Others were AK 47's etc #Rosettenville#CITRobbery
!!!WARNING: GRAPHIC!!! Bheki Cele trampled the scene in a publicity stunt after the #Rosettenville gun fight. No forensic protocol followed by many senior officers. These actions have the ability to destroy evidence and ruin the great work done but ground level cops. #CITRobbery
⭕WARNING GRAPHIC PICS⭕ These are photos of the crime scene (after bodies were removed) where several suspects were shot and killed or wounded in #Rosettenville yesterday by SAPS et al. #CITRobbery

Thread: Gang Violence and Organized Crime in the Western Cape
1/11
Gang violence in the Western Cape is at a crisis point. Over 200 people were shot and killed or wounded in just two months (June–July 2024). This thread explores key findings from the “Western Cape Gang Monitor” about the escalating violence and its root causes.

The arrest of alleged 28s gang leader Ralph Stanfield has sparked controversy. While police claim his incarceration caused a power vacuum, gang insiders suggest he still wields power through wealth and loyalists. His case could set the tone for future prosecutions.

Cocaine trafficking has found a home along the Western Cape coast. Maritime “drop-offs” of GPS-tagged cocaine bricks are becoming common, with traffickers exploiting South Africa’s limited maritime patrol capacity.

Police Minister Bheki Cele spearheading the “fight” against crime is a death sentence for civilians.
1/8
The fact that Cele talks about war declarations when another minister with an armed protection detail gets robbed, while saying nothing when 6 children were shot (2 died) – in the same 24 hours, confirms Cele’s prioritisation of politics over public safety.
2/8
Cele has lost contact with reality. He simply doesn’t know how it is for ordinary South Africans to live anymore. He resides in a safety bubble.

1/25 The following thread is a close to complete summary of how the management of the South African Police Service (SAPS) and the ANC have destroyed SAPS and put the lives of good cops at risk. Some points are examples representing bigger systematic failures:
2/ Five of the last 7 nat. police commissioners removed for impropriety (they ran police service for the last 23 years).
-Selebi (2000 – 2009) jailed for corruption
-Cele (2009 – 2011) was fired for improper conduct following an investigation by Public Protector Thuli Madonsela
3/ -Phiyega (2012 – 2015) was removed for perjury and political interference
-Phahlane (2015 – 2017) was fired after being charged with corruption and dishonest conduct

🩸Caledon Farm Attack // Warning Graphic
This elderly lady is one of the victims I reported of being attacked on a farm close to Caledon in the Western Cape about 48hrs ago. In this thread I will quote & share the whole ordeal as written by her daughter:
2/10
"So it's true. The Katz Family from Klein Sandfontein, have now also become part of the crime statistics for farm attacks. How fortunate we are that this was not a "Farm Murder" - or it could so easily have been...."
3/10
"Imagine you hear this call from your son at roughly 20h30, "Mom, everybody, come quickly, Granny and Aunty Renee have been attacked...Come quickly"!!
1/7 Now and then people ask why we sometimes post pictures of crime scenes that may be graphic to some. I think there's a role for more & less graphic info to share at the right times. Regardless, we must never forget their names & faces, they must never just become numbers!
2/ There's no use in just constantly sharing graphic material that ends up being completely ignored because of the extent of the violence etc. But, in my opinion, the biggest reasons for the state of SA is not government or state failure, but due to apathy & silent diplomacy.
3/ The fact that we sometimes don't show the world what happens to good men like Mario Nel, (SAPS member shot dead in Motherwell yesterday), or Siphokazi Booi, or Terrence Tegg killed by Clover strikers and children like Mia Botha & Bokgabo Poo, results in people forgetting them.
1/ Thread on tragic murder of SAPS member in Motherwell today and the events that followed that helped get a brazen murderer permanently off the street. Salute to these police members. You give us hope!
2/ The Motherwell Magistrate's Court in PE, was closed today following the fatal shooting of a police officer. His firearm was taken from him. The suspect fled the scene.
3/ According to reports, SAPS Anti-Gang Unit vehicle TT1 was following up on information regarding the shooting of the SAPS member on duty at court. The unit patrolled the hotspot areas of Motherwell when a white Toyota Quantum overtook them and the driver jumped out of the taxi
