Sharing with you an open letter from Gideon Javier, son of the martyred Evelio Javier of Antique:
February 21, 2022
My fellow Antiquenos,
I hope you have heard the news that the dictator’s son will no longer be speaking at the hallowed ground where my ⬇️
father died to free us from his family. I hope it gave you a restful weekend.
I believe this cancellation is being spun by the organizers into “the place is not big enough.” Just in case the organizers are not familiar with Antique geography, there is another venue very close ⬇️
by: the Binirayan Sports Complex.
Building Binirayan was a beautiful thing. Many Antiquenos volunteered with their picks and shovels to shape the hillside into stadium seats. My father drove the bulldozer on the night shift to flatten the playing field. Now, we and our ⬇️
children have a place to play basketball, jog and hold our happiest events.
Five days after they killed my father, Imelda Marcos took one million pesos in cash from her bedroom and gave it to the killer. They found the ledger in Malacanang after the EDSA Revolution.
I know ⬇️
the cost of building Binirayan from conversation in my household. I was five or six. I know about the cost of killing my father from conversation in my household. I was sixteen. Marcos Junior was twenty nine when his mother handed out the million pesos and it looks like he was⬇️
still living with his parents.
I normally don’t talk about money but it makes me angry that we Antiqueños made do with so little but those in power just tossed around those sums for the killing of an unarmed man. That money wasn’t theirs, it was the Filipino people’s money. ⬇️
I wonder what so preoccupied the organizers of the Marcos rally when they scoped out their venue. Beside the stage is the rock my father was sitting on he before he was murdered. You have to write the word “Freedom” in the space labelled “location” when you apply for a rally ⬇️
permit.
Anyway, I hope you have enjoyed the news and that little bit of rest. We will need to return the fight to preserve our democracy very soon.
Gideon Javier

The second highest leader of the country visited us last February 16, 2022. The side walks from the EBJ Airport to EBJ Plaza were filled with Pink! We were in⬇️
high spirits as we welcomed Leni Gerona Robredo! After the eventful day, people were dismayed by the dismal number of incumbent officials who were present for the rally considering we are a proud Pink province. Much to our disgust we learned what transpired the day prior. ⬇️
LoWren, the incumbent congresswoman instructed the Mayors from the 18 municipalities to not attend the event. Even the Municipal Mayor of the Capital town cancelled last minute his appearance at the airport to welcome the Vice President at the behest of the congresswoman.

Regarding the Petition against Marcos, I’m re-posting here a summary of the facts and the legal basis of the petition.
1. The petition filed against Marcos 👇
is NOT a disqualification case. It's a petition to CANCEL Marcos' Certificate of Candidacy or deny it due course (which means that the COMELEC should not allow it) because Marcos LIED ("false material representation").
2. Legal basis: Section 78 of the Election Code allows 👇
the COMELEC to cancel the COC if the candidate writes anything false on it.
3. What was false in the COC of Marcos? In the COC, there is a section where you have to declare if you've been convicted of a crime that caries with it the accessory penalty of perpetual 👇

THE BIGGEST SMUGGLING CASE IN HISTORY
When the first batch of donated Chinese vaccines landed in February, Rodrigo Duterte was there at the airport: to greet the crate, bow his head, and thank the Chinese 👇

Yet, there was an even bigger operation before that: the bulk importation of PHP42 Billion in face masks, face shields and other Covid paraphernalia that happened sometime in March last year.
It was such a major operation that, by the account of IATF 👇
czar Galvez, it took all of 21 trips by a C-130 cargo plane to complete.
Why was there no fanfare? Because it was an illegal operation, the sordid details of which are slowly coming to light.
For if it was all in order and transparent, Duterte would have been there at 👇

What about those, who, by virtue of the announcement this morning, made travel plans, arranged face to face business meetings, planned much needed outdoor trips for the children, arranged a religious event and those who 👇

Even worse, What about the businesses that prepared to reopen? Those who already recalled their employees from the provinces, those who have started to manufacture their inventories, those who began accepting reservation again. 👇
