Thread: With 95% of #London's roads run by the boroughs, there are a number of changes they can make to help reduce journey times and improve bus services for everyone. We made this #FreeTheBus video recently to show the problem. bit.ly/Free-the-busLTW 1/8
We're calling on each borough to produce a plan to #Freethebus. Ahead of May’s local elections, we have 5 key asks for boroughs to improve #London bus services. Read more about our asks and the background to them here: bit.ly/FreeTheBusasks 2/8
Ask 1: Make existing bus lanes 24/7 except at clearly defined loading times #FreeTheBus 3/8
Ask 3: Review parking spaces which slow the bus down #FreeTheBus 5/8
Ask 4: Provide more priority for the bus at junctions #FreeTheBus 6/8
Ask 5: Increase the number of bus lanes and other measures which improve bus journey times 7/8
Freeing the bus really is a win-win for everyone. bit.ly/FreeTheBusasks With these measures journey times would be reduced, @TfL could save up to £200m per year and more Londoners would use the bus. We're calling on each borough to produce a plan to help #Freethebus /end
