I have 1.1M+ followers on LinkedIn.

This week, I decided to join Twitter.

Total followers at the start? Nine.

Here's my initial, 6 step plan for Twitter growth.

1/ Be Insanely Consistent

Social growth is a game of consistency.

I'm committing to sharing two tweets per day.

I've already written 60 in the past three days.

We'll see how they play.

2/ Play The Long Game

Let me amend tweet #1.

Social growth is a game of consistency *over time.*

In my experience, it takes ~6 months to see real traction on a new platform.

I'm planning accordingly:

Publish and experiment through August.

Zero expectations until then.

3/ Analyze & Iterate

Consistency alone isn't enough.

Quality matters too.

On LinkedIn, I do a 4 step review every month:

1. Isolate posts with 250k+ views
2. Scan the platform for viral posts
3. Identify common threads in each
4. Adjust my style

I'll be doing that here too.

4/ Add Daily Value To Larger Accounts

People with larger followings can help you level up.

It's how I grew from 3k to 100k on LinkedIn in 12 months.

Here's the plan:

1. Find 15+ accounts with 20x-50x my following
2. Leave value-driven replies to their tweets
3. Repeat daily

5/ Be A Student Of The Game

Assuming I know things I don't isn't helpful.

Learning from people who know their sh*t is.

Yesterday, I hopped on a stream where @JustinSaaS, @dickiebush, and @nicolascole talked about Twitter vs. LinkedIn.

Can't wait to do more of that.
