This is remarkable. Priti Patel is accusing David Lammy of spreading misinformation, using as evidence a link to the official UK Gov webpage that proves him correct.

For Ukrainians in Ukraine without British connections, the normal complex UK visa application regime applies.
My thread summarising the situation has now passed 1 million views. Pity Priti Patel wasn't one of them...

They have to cross a warzone, leave the country, and face the full panoply of visa hostile environment hurdles, including giving biometric data.

That's accurate, btw. The link below leads to the official UK government advice for Ukrainian nationals.

There have been some mild visa rule relaxations for certain Ukrainians already in the UK, and for family members of Brits, but everyone else is stuck.

For example, the Tories are quite happy to give seasonal workers already in the UK an extension, so long as they don't lose their jobs or try to change employer.

The UK government has announced a temporary new visa regime which may allow some Ukraine citizens into the UK.

All they have to do is drive through a warzone, grovel in a complicated process, and wait to find out if they're in the small lucky group...
