2022 is the year of DAOs.

You can join one.. or BUILD one!

Here's your guide to creating the next big DAO

Thread ๐Ÿงต
What is a DAO?

DAO means Decentralized Autonomous Organization

In simple words, it's an online community with no rigid hierarchy or central leader.

This group of people works towards a mutual goal.
What makes the difference with other online organizations?

The interactions are operated on the Web3 space using Blockchain.

The community is linked by rules defined in smart contracts :

This Open Code on the Blockchain guarantees transparency.
How does it Work?

1- DAO must have a purpose.

2- DAO must have a set of rules

3- DAO usually have a shared bank account

4- DAO must have collaborative decision-making (voting)
How to Build a DAO?

There's different methods and tools to create your own DAO.

You can code one by following tutorials and helpers:

@MoralisWeb3
@thirdweb_
@daostack

Or you can use specified tools for every feature ๐Ÿ‘‡
How to communicate?

This is the first aspect of every DAO.

Start by gathering people that share the same goal as you.

Usually a @discord server is what everybody chooses.

But you can try @telegram or @signal for more secure conversations.

And Twitter to get new members.
For a pure decentralized communication platform, try

- Aether, it's a peer-to-peer Reddit.

Provides chat rooms, forum threads and email newsletters.
How to set up a DAO?

These are the suite of templates and apps to launch DAOs:

@AragonProject
@joincolony
@OrcaProtocol

To create legal agreements and documents with Ethereum use OpenLaw
How to Create Tokens?

Launch tokens for your DAO.

The tokens are used as a way of authentication and represents shares in the DAO

Become a token-driven community with:

@CoinviseCo
@tryrollhq
How to Token Gate?

Only persons with the Tokens can access your DAO.

These are the tools you need to manage access for your gated DAO.

@Collab_Land_
@grapeprotocol
@guildxyz
How to Vote and Govern?

DAOs are communities with bottom-up governance.

Voting and Polling are necessary for every decision and action.

@voteWithTally
@SnapshotLabs
@boardroom_info
How to manage Finances?

Just like any organization. You have to manage the funds and treasury.

Use decentralized platforms to manage payments, invoices, and treasury.

@llamacommunity_
@juiceboxETH
@gnosisSafe
How to reward?

Reward the members of your DAO for their efforts and contributions.

Share compensations using one of these:

@parcelHQ
@coordinape
@sourcecred
@Superfluid_HQ
@utopialabs_
You need inspiration for your DAO?

Here are some popular DAOs

@developer_dao - Coders

@banklessDAO - DeFi

@songcamp_ - Music

@theRAWdao - Photography

@SyndicateDAO - Investing

@KrauseHouseDAO - Sports

@PadawanDAO - Conferences
That's it. Now go Build your DAO!
