We know the outcomes in each country. The present Govt is taking some very harsh decisions in the long term interests of the company. Still there are some companies that are promoting foreign tech disguised as Indian R&D or with the promise of future indigenisation. 3/5
Indigenisation unlikely to happen. Why? Two reasons. 1. R&D is usually in the DNA of a company. It doesn't come with "promise to do in future" attitude. Manufacturers can't transform into research orgns. 2, The penalties for such violations are very minimal.

Failure to indigenise as per plan should result in blacklisting of the company/group & criminal prosecution of the board and key managerial personnel. This will ensure they don't promise lightly. As of now there is hardly any "punishment".
