The UKs response to Russians invasion of Ukraine 🇺🇦 A thread. Some are saying the UK isn't doing enough. So I'll let you decide for yourselves. The UK has been training Ukrainian troops since 2015.

Since early January 2022 the UK was the first to send defensive weapons to the Ukraine and troops to help train Ukrainians use the equipment.

Whilst the UK was sending defensive weapon for weeks. EU countries weren’t so keen. Germany refused to send defensive weapon, sending only an insulting 5K of helmets.

Not only that, they were blocking fellow NATO countries from doing the same.

Ukrainian ambassador to the UK was not happy.
Latvias Deputy PM also blasts continental Europe for lack of action. Praising Britain and some other European countries that did help.
Ukrainian Foreign Minister also Blasts those buying Oil and Gas, accusing them of funding Putins war machine.
The UK was calling from Russia to be kicked out of Swift. Yet, Germany, Italy, and Hungary refused, only doing so now because of the pressure from other allies.

Tusk wasn’t happy.
Still some EU members are reluctant to help Ukraine defend themselves.
Despite what some might say. The Ukraine has been nothing but complimentary of the UKs help and response.

In Europe since 2010 there has been approximately 600 deaths and thousands maimed and injured.
In the UK there has been approximately 101 deaths, 100s maimed, and thousands injured from Islamist terror attacks.

+ 40k on the terror watch list.

Communication between Boris Johnson and President Zelenskyy has been constant throughout the conflict.
Nothing highlights this more than when Boris Johnson received a call (only him) from Volodymyr Zelensky, alerting him of the attack on the Zaporizhzhia nuclear plant.
