In this thread, I'll be summarizing an interview with Vladimir Trukhan, a Colonel who serves at the Central Office of the Ministry of Defense of Russia. Obviously, it's heavy on Russian propaganda, but I think it's still helpful to understand a few things & the RU perspective.
“There are no conscripts in the military operation. Only trained professionals. That's why Belarus doesn't participate, their army is all conscripts. So if someone is squealing about ‘corpses of Russian conscripts’, you can spit in his face.”
“The Ukrainian number of 3500 Russians KIA is ridiculous. Such a number of dead would mean several times the number of wounded, which means that all roads would be jammed with ambulances, plus mass deployment of field hospitals — it would be impossible to hide this.”
“The cases of solitary Russian POWs, which Banderite propaganda spins, are unlikely: an AWOL soldier who went to a neighboring village to buy moonshine could be captured, but he is not a fighter, he is a laggard. Single soldiers don't break away during fights.”
“Incidents of convoys being burned on the march are possible, it's war, things happen. Someone made a mistake, didn't keep track, had to abandon vehicles with empty tanks. We assume that the abandoned convoys are being burned by the AFU retroactively for staged videos.”
“The same with ‘supplies that'll last only 3-4 days’; a fairy tale of nonsense. Military operations of this level are prepared for at least several months, everything is calculated and stockpiled in advance with excessive redundancy for all cases.”
“The main idea of the Russian Army is ‘we are not Americans’. They are the ones who, when they see something or someone in their way, first throw a grenade and then ask questions. Nobody is going to produce mountains of corpses, if a person does not offer resistance, why shoot?”
“Handing out weapons to the unprepared population, as well as all sorts of ‘Molotov cocktails’ against professionals, is ridiculous idiocy. Three or four stun grenades is enough to make them shit themselves on the spot, drop their weapons and run away.”
“The Kadyrovtsy, specifically trained to deal with terrorists in urban environments, will mop up the Nazis.”
“Russian forces participating in the operation do not use mortars. All mortar shelling in residential areas, especially in senseless places, where there is no military or energy infrastructure, are provocations by the AFU & terrorists in order to influence the local population.”
“To summarize, there are no non-professionals in the operation. The operation was prepared well in advance in all respects and the plan has a lot of ramifications for all kinds of events.”

Missing some Tweet in this thread? You can try to
force a refresh
I deleted the previous iteration of this tweet but there are now several unconfirmed reports claiming that the Moskva has arrived at the port of Sevastopol, allegedly on its own. Waiting for visual confirmation, I guess. I'll keep you updated
Well, that didn't last long - MOD says the "Moskva" lost its stability due to sustained hull damage & then sank due to storm weather while en route to its port of destination (Sevastopol, I guess).
Reports coming in that the AFU fired at the small town of Klimovo in Bryansk Oblast (~10km north of the Ukrainian border)
7 people, including a pregnant woman and a child, were injured as a result of shelling in the Klimovka district of the Bryansk region, a representative of the emergency department of the Klimovka central district hospital told TASS.
Investigative Committee of Russia: "Using two attack helicopters equipped with heavy offensive weapons, AFU soldiers illegally entered Russian airspace. At low altitude, acting deliberately, they carried out at least 6 airstrikes on civilian buildings in the village of Klimovo."
It is said that the floating church of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker took the blows of five severe storms, but was never damaged and always returned to its home port of Astrakhan. This ship sailed the Caspian Sea & was the only full-fledged floating church in the Russian Empire.
The paddle steamer featured a whole parish complex: the church of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker for five hundred parishioners, icon and candle shops, a pharmacy and even a small hospital for the sick.
The first voyage of the floating church occurred in September 1910 with the blessing of Bishop Georgiy (Orlov) of Astrakhan. The church was entrusted with the implementation of an important spiritual task.
Russian MOD confirms that the "Moskva" has been damaged, there's a fire on board & the crew has been evacuated - no other details yet
If the "Moskva" is lost, that would be a huge blow to Russian naval presence in the Black Sea - it's the biggest ship currently deployed there iirc. There were objective reasons for that, but many naval experts have complained for years that the Black Sea Fleet had been neglected
Strategically, the loss of the "Moskva" would increase the necessity to capture Nikolayev (Nikolayev Shipyard, Black Sea Shipyard) & Zaporozhye (Motor Sich plant), while also making any theoretical planned naval landings a lot more difficult.
