1️⃣ Variability in #CAD testing for pts with new-onset heart failure #HF

Prevalence of CAD is 50-60% in HF.

Only 35% of pts underwent CAD testing (21% coronary angiogram) during the 90 days before and after initial HF diagnosis, and 9% underwent revasc.

2️⃣ Pts who underwent CAD testing were more likely to be younger, male, and have systolic dysfunction.
Significant social disparities: CAD testing was used less in women and Black pts.
3️⃣ Pts managed by a cardiologist were more likely to undergo CAD testing, compared with those managed by a PCP (57% vs. 16%; aOR 5.12). However, great variations across cardiologists, as well as across US regions.
4️⃣ No significant variation in CAD testing between 2004 and 2019, in particular there was no increase in CAD testing after the publication of STICHES results in 2016.
