- The Deep Seaport is to be located in Gberefu area of Badagry, Lagos State

- It covers an area of 1,103 hectares out of which 623 is dedicated for port activities including an 18-meter draft and 4 Km quay

- The #BadagryDeepSeaPort project will be developed in Four (4) phases under a PPP arrangement that includes the supporting roles of both Lagos State Government & FG through the Federal Ministry of Transportation, the Nigerian Ports Authority (@nigerianports).

- The #BadagryDeepSeaPort would be a port with the deepest draft and widest berths in Sub Sahara Africa

- The Port will be berthing the largest vessels known in existence today such as the 400-meter-long Maersk Triple E class with a carrying capacity of 18, 000 TEUs
- An additional 480 hectares of land has also been earmarked for industrial & logistics park zone.

- The scope of the new port includes terminals for containerized and non-containerized cargo,

- Dredged access channel, tuning circle, port basin, anchorage area
- Shorrline protections, an offshore supply base, refined product import jetties, industrial and logistics zone and supporting transport infrastructure.

FLASH: COURT SENTENCES TRAFFIC ROBBER TO TWO YEARS IN JAIL
 
A traffic robbery suspect, Lookman Ojo (25) arrested by the Lagos Rapid Response Squad (@rrslagos767) over the weekend at Ojota Under bridge was today sentenced to two years imprisonment.

Ojo, who was arrested by the RRS Decoy Team in September 2021 for traffic robbery around Alapere, inward Ogudu was re – arrested two weeks after regaining freedom.
Ojo in his confession stated apart from robbing occupants of flashy cars in traffic, he along with his colleagues rob in Ojota, Mile 12 and Ketu, noting that there are many of them in the area.

FLASH: In preparation for the launch of Precast Beams for the Phase 1 of the Lagos Rail Mass Transit project, the Lagos State Government will divert traffic on Muritala Mohammed Way between Saturday 12th February and Sunday 13th February, 2022.

In a statement released by the Ministry of Transportation, the Commissioner, Dr. Frederic Oladeinde explained that a lane will be barred from vehicular movement as part of the safety precaution to protect Road Users during the installation of the Precast Beams.
Oladeinde revealed that traffic on Muritala Mohammed way will be diverted to Abeokuta Street to access Borno Way through Coates Street to further link Muritala Mohammed Way. He added that motorists can alternately access their destinations from Cemetery Street.
