The International Atomic Energy Agency says it is in contact with the Ukrainian authorities about the situation. Earlier, it had called for "an immediate halt to the use of force" around the Ukrainian plant.

International Atomic Energy Agency: Ukraine says the fire at the site of the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant has not affected essential equipment, and plant personnel are taking "mitigatory actions."
Biden spoke with Zelensky about the fire at the Zaporizhzhia nuclear plant and joined him in urging Russia to “cease its military activities in the area and allow firefighters and emergency responders to access the site,” the White House said.
Zelensky: "No state except Russia has ever fired at nuclear power plants. This is the first time in the history of mankind that a terrorist state has also resorted to nuclear terror.”

The American Nuclear Society condemned the Russian attack on the reactor but noted that so far, “there are no indications that any damage caused by the attack poses an additional threat to the public.”
The latest radiation readings are “within natural background levels.”
British PM Johnson said he would seek an emergency meeting of the UN Security Council on the issue of the Zaporizhzhia nuclear plant.
He urged Russia to “immediately cease its attack” on the plant and allow access to emergency services.
The US energy secretary said: "We have seen no elevated radiation readings near the facility.”
