Why Medical Marijuana?

So Chris, who had a heart attack back in 2006 had some troubling bloodwork come back a couple months ago. The doctors put him on some medications that don’t play well with alcohol.

And that sucks lol!

So if Chris can’t drink for the next 6 months to a year .. I decided to stop as well (at least when we’re in the same room /place) ❤️😀

Shockingly (to us) his MD recommended medical marijuana.

So we got our medical marijuana cards & began testing things out

Chris - Because of his concussion he’s been dealing with headaches, chronic anxiety, irritability & this thing where he wakes up through the night as he transitions through the levels of sleep.

Me: as many of you on here know … I have a tough time relaxing & often suffer with insomnia & racing thoughts..

So after two month of experimentation with #MedicalMarijuana what have we discovered?

A lot!

1. The right strains work wonders!

2. We are both extremely sensitive to THC .. I mean extremely!

3. There is a HUGE need for high CBD / Low THC strains of flower & vape oil.

It’s nearly IMPOSSIBLE to find.

So here’s what we’ve tried & what we’ve experienced:

1st candidate
Name: 5lb Hammer
Type: Hybrid Flower
THC: 9%
CBD: 12%
Brandi Result: coughing, a bit anxious, up all night but no racing thoughts. Just awake!

Chris Result: Initial anxiety but smoothed out , wide awake for hours, felt “high” & tongue tied. No headaches.

2nd Candidate
Name: Charlotte’s Web
Type: Sativa Flower
THC:1%
CBD: 14%
Brandi Result: Awesome! Slowed the noise! relaxed but not sleepy, no nausea , slight & pleasant high

Chris Result: Awesome! Clear headed, relaxed but not sleepy, pleasant sociable high, headache gone.

The Charlotte’s Web was so good it deserves a 2nd & 3rd tweet.

Chris described it like this:

I actually feel smarter & more confident. Although I have a slight high, I’m not paranoid. I actually feel more social like I could give a speech to a large crowd & be more effective.

For me: Charlotte’s Web

Great aroma, no coughing, no anxiety, all racing thoughts became normal speed.

And although I never felt sleepy, I slept straight through the night , had great dreams & NEVER once felt nauseous.

That’s a thing for me. For some reason ⬆️THC = ⬆️ nausea

3rd Candidate:
Name: Ratio Cartridge lol!
Type: Vape
THC: 78%
CBD: 9%
Brandi Results: The vapes are easier for me to “smoke” but this one made me uncomfortably high, always slightly nauseous, I did sleep well but it’s just not for me.

Chris Results: didn’t try.

Some thoughts on Vape labeling:

a. Why isn’t there an indication of Sativa, Indica or Hybrid on the label?

b. Isn’t there a strain? And if yes why isn’t it on the label. Strains matter to me.

c. Why is the way % is labeled not standardized across all types ( flower, vape, etc)

4th Candidate

THC: 38%
CBD: 38%
Brandi Notes: Haven’t tried yet! It’s on deck for this week!

Chris Notes: Hasn’t tried because he has no real idea how the THC levels compare to flower.

Final Notes So Far:

1. We both prefer the high CBD / low THC products. They are truly therapeutic while only being as “buzzy” as a glass of wine which is very nice.

2. I like the vape & flower , Chris likes the flower. There’s something “old world” about smoking flower.. ❤️❤️

3. I wish there were dispensaries that had access to & carried far more high CBD / low THC flower & vape products.

I go to a wine shop & have hundreds if not thousands of options. Medical Marijuana dispensaries are very limited & we’ve visited all of them in West Florida.

Regarding the strains I can’t find. Here’s the list from our doctor. We can’t find any of these anywhere:

Sour Space Candy  ( CBD 16%  THC 1%  Myrcene )

Good Medicine ( CBD 10% | THC 6% | Myrcene )

Pennywise. ( CBD 8% THC 8% CBG 1% Myrcene )
