Finished the first cour of Jujutsu Kaisen last night and a few thoughts:

1) Best anime ending ever?
2) OP slaps impossibly hard too
3) This is the most aggressively "off to the races" start to a Shonen anime I've ever seen
4) Gojo-sensei might be the coolest character ever?

5) The central conceit of having the big bad share a body with the protagonist is super clever. It's like if the main antagonist of Yu-Gi-Oh was actually Dark Yugi and I love that.

6) There's a guy named Panda and he's just a Panda but he talks and so far there's no explanation

7) In just 13 episodes, the show is a battle anime, a horror show, a magical school show, *and* it's gearing up for an inter-school tournament arc, so really just checking off ALL the boxes with remarkable speed. I love it.

8) There's a bunch of turns the show takes right out the gate that *should* result in bad pacing (like putting Yuji on missions before doing a single training/school scene, or the big twist in Episode 5) but instead it's incredibly exhilarating. The show just burns through plot.

9) Kenjiro Tsuda gets *maybe* my favorite part he's ever played besides Seto Kaiba on this show and considering he's one of my favorite seiyuu that's saying something

10) The Crunchyroll subs are just full-on high-quality fansubs with different colors, the text translated, all the bells and whistles. Even the names are in the right order, so when they say "Itadori Yuji" you don't have to read "Yuji Itadori" and go "wait what" for a second.

Anywho this show slaps, excited to watch the back half of the season (but sad to say goodbye to that legendary OP/ED pair) and REALLY excited for the movie. We'll be doing a big podcast on all of it at the end of the month.
