@LBC The booking for an appointment to take her biometrics was made on 18th February - for Wednesday 9th March.
The site has since closed, and they eventually managed to get out to Poland.
But on the 8th they were staggered to get a follow-up email, reminding them to go to Kyiv.
Richard Spinks told me it's "beyond incomprehensible."
To think of anyone else receiving this email potentially now "struggling through a war zone, past Russians, to get to an appointment that doesn't exist."
The Home Office wouldn't comment on an individual case like this one, though it's clear they wouldn't *deliberately* send anyone to an appointment in Kyiv - as the office has closed.
Digital Minister Chris Philp told @LBC the case was “clearly wrong”
- and advised the couple to head straight to the British Embassy in Warsaw 🇵🇱
Just one problem. The Embassy can’t help with visa queries.

NEW: the police watchdog has slammed 'disgraceful' sexist, bullying, racist behaviour uncovered by officers based mostly at Charing Cross police station.
The killer line - "We believe these incidents are not isolated or simply the behaviour of a few ‘bad apples’." @LBC
This is some of what the nine independent investigations into officers (mostly PCs) found
Simply, horrifyingly, staggering.
The police watchdog found evidence that Met offices, among other things:

Nine Insulate Britain defendants are due before the High Court Judge this morning.
The hearing is booked to last three days but they have little legal representation, and tell me they will admit to breaching the injunction - so it could be over much sooner. @LBC
Hearing begun. Myriam Stacey QC representing National Highways.
The 9 Insulate Britain activists all took part in a protest on the M25 on the 8th October where they blocked J25 Waltham Cross. That was two weeks after the Injunction had been granted @LBC
