two years ago we were at a parkour gym — they had a 15 foot wall that people would try and run up — it was real hard — the guy said most adults can’t do it — me and one of the twins started talking about it — he said he could do it — I said no way — we bet on it…
he spent basically the entire hour we were there trying to get to the top — he never could quite do it — no matter how he hard he tried he just couldn’t get there…
for some reason he just refused to give up — he’d run up the wall, reach for the top, miss it, slide back down, get mad, and then try again — he tried 100 times and failed 100 times — it was wild to watch…
over and over and over again he would try — and over and over and over again he would fail — it was clear it was impossible but he just kept going — he was possessed — but no matter how hard he tried he could never quite get there — he was legit one inch away a couple times…
we only bought an hour-long pass and time was about to be up so i started preparing what i was gonna say to him because i knew how upset he was gonna be — something about heart and character and pride and failures and lessons etc — i was ready to DAD the fuck out of the moment…
but here’s the thing: as i was videoing larami and trying to peer pressure her into doing a back flip i heard a noise — it was one of his cousins — she was yelling — and so i looked over and:
i couldn’t believe it — he just kept on going until he finally did that shit — i was legit in awe (you can hear it in my voice lol) — he walked out of that gym like a king — i think about that look he had all the time — he was ten feet tall in that moment — it was beautiful
anyway i say all of that to say: i was eating an ice cream sandwich just now and it took me more than two tries to get that last little bit of paper off the ice cream sandwich so i just ate it with the paper on there
lol
i ain’t shit
