💎 THREAD: Common Interview Questions and HOW TO Answer Them
(quick strategy guide—do NOT let the interviewer take you for a ride)
Make sure the moment you get a callback for an interview that you start DOING YOUR HOMEWORK ON THE COMPANY!
📒 Get a notepad out and get fully educated on the following:
• Their values
• Their mission statement
• Their goals
Read the ‘About’ on their website!
Your goal is to make it “appear” like you are the ideal candidate that was being described in the job description. That is your ROLE to play, so get comfortable ACTING.
🎭 It’s a job deSCRIPTion.
All of the keywords and interview talking points you need to hit are on that post.
1. What is your biggest strength?
“My biggest strength is that I am a COMPLEX PROBLEM SOLVER. I can come up with quick innovative solutions to solve the internal pain points of employees and customers that improve retention levels because I have a natural talent to fix issues.”
Complex Problem Solving is a ‘transferable skill’ that EVERYONE can put on their resume and talk about in an interview because you solve problems every single day. You solved the interviewer’s problem of needing someone to interview by just showing up that day.
Congrats.🎊
2. What is your greatest weakness?
“I believe that my greatest weakness that I’ve had to overcome is…”
“My biggest weakness that I’ve most recently worked through…”
“I used to have a huge weakness in _______ until…”
Do you see how I’m setting up the answer? Let’s dive.👀
DO NOT just say “oh I’m weak at working in teams” or “my weakness is turning work in on time” or “I’m lazy.” WHO WANTS TO HIRE THAT?😫
Showcase your work ethic in the answers by telling the interviewer that you already FIXED the weakness and didn’t let it fester!
Example to use instead of a cop out: “oh my weakness is that I’m ‘TOO’ punctual and work ‘TOO’ hard because I’m a ‘perfectionist’.”
🔑 “I believe that the biggest weakness that I most recently had to work on the most was my ability to ask for help from my teammates…cont.👇🏾
cont. I used to always just try to do everything myself and would feel like it was a burden to lean on others for support, but I had to realize through working alone for so long that to be a better manager and leader, I have to allow colleagues to know when I’m struggling.” 🙃
This way, you’re actually answering the question & giving them background to the skill sets you will offer to the company.
Trial and error, process improvement, team work. You tell them you’ve been through hardship and learned to PIVOT when it got tough. It’s the WAY you answer!
3. Why are you interested in our company?
“I have been following this company’s growth for the last 6 months and your mission aligns with my career values. I see longevity here and I’ve kept my eye on the opening of this position because I admire details and so does this firm.”
NOT because y’all niggas is hiring, do you need a worker or not.
(I see y’all’s tweets about interviews all the time and it’s not surprising why y’all DO NOT be getting hired) 😭😭😭 People will have “ultimate finesser” in their bio and complain about not getting jobs 24/7. HUH!
If you can bag a lot of girls/boys, if you lie on your tinder & swindle people into thinking you actually like them and you got them sneaky hot links running all over town, having people buy you meals/pay your bills…
YOU CAN FINESSE BIG CHECKS OUT OF THESE COMPANIES ON GOD!🤑
4. Why did you leave your last company?
“I am leaving my company because I already gained all the skills there that I need to be able to perform well and improve the processes at this company.”
“My goal is to constantly improve and this company will allow me to do that more.”
I get asked how to answer this from people who have bad blood with their previous employers (ME ☠️🙈)
STOP TELLING STRANGERS YOUR BUSINESS! Don’t ever feel like the company is telling you the 100% truth because they are not, so use selective honesty if you got cut from the line.
4. Can you tell us about a time where you experienced conflict?
“I experienced the most conflict when I had to start working remotely and my team members did not know how to use tech or software programs. Nobody provided training for people who were unfamiliar with…cont.👇🏾
cont. WFH, so I created a planned schedule for zoom training with everyone on my team that needed help. When there is a gap in operational systems, I take initiative to fix them because if not—productivity suffers. I was able to get the entire remote team trained… cont.👇🏾
cont. within 1 week and it not only increased productivity levels, but also team cohesion, faith, & retention. Through that conflict, I got promoted to being the department’s Remote Training Team Lead and it’s been a blessing because I love my work from home life balance now.”🤗
💎 The best tip in answering interview questions to pass and secure the job is to honestly just practice. Which means you have to go on MORE interviews (get a better resume & LinkedIn to attract them)
Then? Practice in the mirror, with a friend, record yourself on video, etc.
EXTRAS: you should have a list of questions to ask too (interrogate RIGHT back), don’t let them play in your face!😢
💭 Ask:
• What is the onboarding process like?
• Why did YOU choose to work here?
• How do you like to receive feedback?
• Where do you see my skills placed?
Now, if you sniff out a spy in the camp & they are being condescending and rude to you? That is NOT the place to work, you can get a better job for more somewhere else.
Still use the interview as practice, but go buck wild on them and turn the heat up in your questioning.🥵🔥

How to Get HIRED in 2024 Step-by-Step (all results and success messages will be from April 2024), a playing field leveling thread.✊🏾
Please take don’t skip any of these tips if you are seriously trying to get a new job this year.
Step 1: PICK A JOB TITLE TO PURSUE
Only choose 1, do not be open to everything! Get extremely clear on the next job title you want because you need to have a specific target to go after in order to hit it.
💲alary Negotiation tips & tricks (for people that have never asked for more money than they were offered), a thread:
Things that I have seen work for job seekers that you can start trying out immediately!
💲ample 1: Just say you want to negotiate the salary!
By just bringing up the conversation at all is better than saying nothing and taking what is offered because the company is EXPECTING you to negotiate.
Closed asses don't get ate up, so if you're nervous just be direct.
💲ample 2: I am interviewing for roles that are between xxx-xxxk/year. What could "WE" do to ensure that this company is able to pay me my value which starts at xxxk?
Use the word "WE," state the range you're interviewing in, and ask what can be done to ensure the company pays
I offer job seekers the information that is typically hidden and not discussed openly when it comes to how to EXCEL in the job market in order to help them achieve higher salaries at better companies.
What is this hidden information ⬇️⬇️⬇️
1. NOBODY really sits there and reads resumes.
They scan and skim them in 6-7 seconds (or even less) to see if they will call you back. Yes, some companies use an ATS but some companies don't, so you barely need to focus on "fitting it."
You need to just fit the job description
2. Companies ONLY care about 3 things
If you can:
- Make them money
- Save them money
- SAVE THEM TIME (so they can make more $$$)
This is what human capital (employees) are bought to do for the company. If you cannot demonstrate this, you are not getting hired.
🐠 How to PREPARE for job interviews for roles that you have never done before (fish-out-of-water job hunting), a thread on executing a seamless career pivot:
*Please refer to this thread when you land an interview for a title you haven't officially yet held*
1. Go back to the original job description (you should have already saved it as a PDF) and start rereading it!
You should know the job description like the BACK of your hand once you get that initial interview confirmation.
2. Pull out the main keywords from the job description because you are going to use them A LOT in your interview.
These will be the words that the interviewer will be listening for and ✨WANTING ✨ to hear. They are the words that are repeated many times in the job description.
