The Western decision to cancel all Russia at once for the stance and people’s support for the operation will have serious consequences for the West itself, resulting in deep shifts in the mindset of the Western civilisation taking it extremely far from its own values.

The start of the shift can be witnessed right now. How far it will go, the time will show.

Interesting that in the beginning, sanctioning Russia, the West was stressing that the sanctions are not against the Russian people. The West expected the protests and people’s outrage against the operation.

But expectations have not been met. As the Russians demonstrated the broad support that was fixed even by the independent opinion polls. And since then started the cancellation of Russia, the Russians and the Russian culture.

What I find curious, is that very few people in the West are questioning why there’s such broad support, why sanctions make the Russians hate the West, not Russia’s government. Few people try to understand the reasons for the current situation and the operation.

A good friend of mine, an extreme supporter of Navalny, turned against the West since she saw how the West targets ordinary people with nonsensical sanctions that are sometimes really far from “humanism”. She quoted the closure of the Medscape for the Russian users.

“I'm tired of listening to a stream of shit and apologizing for being a Russian”, she wrote on her social media.

“Masks are off” is the most frequently repeated saying of the Russians describing their attitude towards the West now.

In the past days since Feb 24, thanks to the sanctions and extremely aggressive narrative (almost racist) of the West, the Russians finally got back two important pillars lost after the collapse of the USSR: the national identity and the national pride.
