I went to an @AlexianerGmbH hospital because I took an antibiotic, and suddenly couldn’t eat or sleep. Their “treatment” left me with such poor vision, that six months later, I still can’t work on my laptop to work on design, or digital art like this. 😞
Their doctors insisted I was depressed, but ironically, their treatment has left me in a position where I need to actively focus on why things could still be worse, so I’m not feeling ridiculously depressed 24-7.
Imagine convincing a graphic designer to take drugs that could negatively impact one of their most prized possessions - their vision So fucking cruel. 😞 Nobody ever warned me that my vision could be impacted either.
Experimenting on Photoshop and Illustrator is something I’ve enjoyed since I was 15 years old. I never imagined this could be ripped away from me, thanks to doctors.
Who’s going to compensate me for all my lost savings that I worked my ass off for, and lack of ability to work for so long?
Horrible, horrible decision making, while those doctors get to continue with their careers and lives. In the meantime, I sit here, desperately hoping my vision comes back one day. 😞
And no, glasses don’t work, because it shifts constantly, and the last Ophthalmologist I visited didn’t understand how my vision suddenly degraded like this at my age. Is it benzo withdrawal or Mirtazapine side effects? #prescribedharm

The total lack of education that psychiatrists (and GPS) have on harm reduction tapering and full side effects of psychiatric drugs (“medication”) is a massive failure of the medical community. The fact that patients need to rely on peer support groups is dangerous.
While forums like surviving antidepressants, benzo buddies, subreddits and Facebook groups are literal life-savers for many patients, they’re also potentially dangerous… and I say this as a mod of a women’s benzo group.
When the medical community fails here and lets patients to figure this out, it’s confusing for a vulnerable individual to make a decision. There are so many different voices and opinions.
