In these dark & troubling times, it is frightening to be a young European.

2. Europe stands at a turning point:
Geopolitical shifts are accelerating.
A clash of values is taking place in our region & globally.
On one side: those who believe in democracy, the right to self-determination & rule of law.
On the other: those who believe in brute force.

3. In this world, we have to stand up for our values, not just talk about them.
We have to think hard about our place in the world - alliances, dependencies, defence.
BUT it is precisely in such difficult times that the EU finds its voice, unity + new ways to get results!

4. We are rethinking how we:
➡️power our economies & homes
➡️drive the green & digital transitions
➡️set standards & rules of the future
A new Europe will emerge.
And the next generation will be in the driving seat to take it forward.

5. Yes, the war & sanctions will impose economic costs.
But we are in a good starting position, with strong fundamentals:
✅world’s most integrated trading bloc
✅2nd most traded currency
These are powerful, valuable assets we can rely on in a crisis.

6. We owe our next generation a strong Europe with a sustainable economy.
There are always bumps in the road & differences of opinion (with 27 countries, it would be strange if this was not the case).
But we are getting there: Europe remains a place of solidarity. 🇪🇺

7. So what should our focus be now?
Answer:
To make sure Europe is prepared for all eventualities, strong in all scenarios, without compromising on what made us strong in the first place. 🇪🇺💪
