It has become impossible to be silent about it.
I feel like an asset to a huge crime, when I remain silent about current situation in #Mariupol, which IS NOT JUST CRITICAL, BUT QUINTESSENTIAL WEAK STOP OF THE WHOLE UKRAINE!
I feel ashamed hearing news on the radio, where lady with a nice voice states: “Ukraine is winning on every frontline”, while in the meantime I receive messages from my brothers in arms in Mariupol and their wives, asking: “Have you forgot about us?”.
If Ukraine is winning across all fronts, if we’re conducting counterattacks, then what place in this story take are our soldiers and civilians, currently being destroyed in Mariupol?
THE SITUATION IS MUCH WORSE THAN JUST CRITICAL.
Every letter in this statement screams it.
I scream out of horrendous shame of not being able to help, not being able to save, not being able to protect my people in Mariupol.
I am ashamed, because I don’t know how to respond to messages saying: “Alina, what about us?”.
And I am scared, when these messages stop coming for more than 5 days.
…
Yesterday Yulia Payevska, call sign Taira, a famous volunteer and a Hero of Ukraine, who was treating wounded civilians in Mariupol was taken hostage.
Humanitarian corridors aren’t going to deblock and #closethesky. Food and water supplies aren not going to stop a genoside, arranged by russia in Mariupol
Thousand weapon units are arriving to Ukraine from all over the world. Not a single one of them is able to break our warriors out of complete encirclement in Mariupol.
