The leaked memo confirms it: The ADL deceptively portrays itself as an antiracist ally even as it works *against* our movements. The ADL literally strategizes how not to look like the racist, white-led, pro-police/pro-military org that it is. #DropTheADL
The #ADLleak memo is just the surface. Under pressure from our movements, the ADL has scrubbed Islamophobic & anti-BLM messaging from its websites—but it keeps pursuing Islamophobic & anti-Black policy that smears and vilifies many antiracist movements. #DropTheADL
The ADL has also been gutting K-12 education. It says teaching about Palestine is “antisemitic,” demands schools say anti-Zionism is antisemitism, & advocated for a ban on teaching race in “political” terms. #DropTheADL
To cover white nationalism, media often turn to the ADL as an "expert." 200+ antiracist groups say DON'T. ADL pushes conservative, militaristic, anti-Black, & Islamophobic policy under the guise of being considered the watchdog on white natlism to #DropTheADL
ADL hate crimes data lacks transparency & skews reporting. Many of its "antisemitic incidents" are just criticism of Israel, it names Jewish peace groups as major sources of antisemitism. Media must stop uncritically repeating these numbers. #DropTheADL
