ONE MONTH SINCE THE NEW BATAAN 5 MASSACRE, WE AMPLIFY OUR CALL FOR JUSTICE!
We remember Chad for his selfless service to the development of Lumad communities as a Lumad school teacher, defender of Andap Valley, and a human rights activist.
Chad helped develop the Lumad school's curriculum to further cater to the needs of communities in attaining food security and self-sufficiency. As a student of the people, he learned their language, lived with them and stood with them in asserting their right to education.

Chad struggled alongside the Lumad-Manobo in opposing the Duterte-approved coal operating contracts of Benguet Mining Corporation owned by the Marcos-Duterte dynasty which is set to operate in the Lumad-Manobo's ancestral lands in Surigao del Sur.
Witnessing firsthand the human rights violations, Chad exposed the atrocities of state forces who continue to displace communities, close Lumad schools and kill indigenous people to pave the way for the entry of coal mining companies.
