Taking a moment for a highly unusual public display of appreciation. I’m so grateful to have met @BBCYaldaHakim and her senior producer @katepeevor, two people who care so much about the stories and the news we put out on the BBC.
Amidst the pressures of the fall of Afghanistan, a story so personal to her, Yalda took the time to mentor and champion me. I’m simply in awe of her skill and empathy for others.
Kate is one of the hardest working people I know, delivering above and beyond in our newsroom. Yet she still took the time to train and encourage me.
I hope these public messages, can convey a smidgen of how grateful I’ve been to work alongside both of you. Always and forever #TeamYalda.
