The latest known Ukrainian official to be abducted by the Russian military is Oleksandr Babych, mayor of Hola Prystan, Kherson Oblast. The Russians detained him on Mar. 28, his whereabouts are currently unknown, according to Suspilne Kherson.

Why Ukrainian troops won't leave Mariupol? Although besieged, Mariupol binds about 14,000 Russian personnel that is not advancing elsewhere, trying to take the city.
Mariupol is also important as a port that could be convenient for the rear supply of the Russian southern group.
