#Cryptoart is bleeding edge work realizing all the dualism as well as social and economical character of modern art as described by Adorno
layman's 🧵
mimesis and the concept of naturally creating a posteriori a work of art from material - in this case technology - are the whole genesis of tokenized and crypto art
works of art are both a commodity, set in a space *fait social* and at the same time a promise of a better, happier utopia. they are antithesis to ideological ontology, speak a deeper truth about perception, class struggle, unconscious zeitgeist
#trashart has the incredibly important function of taking the element of dissonance a step further - while still addressing the useful, clean object of the trashcan as a symbolic reference to the effluent or surplus - a synthesis of truth and ideal
putting the garbage in the spotlight, subtly catching the gaze, it makes palpable the omnipresent knowledge of ontological gaps - the void
maybe reminiscent of Hitchcock and more than relevant in a late capitalist world, which is literally catching fire at the disregarded ends
my personal reading of this leaves me in some ambiguity, perhaps appropriately to Adorno positioning the exalted/sublime element
will this notion of art be a longstanding ideal reference to a distant greater good, a more efficient tool to turn art into a commodity, maybe both?
