Those are my sales for the last 12 months, lets go over the basics.
Amazon FBA stands for fulfillment by Amazon
A business model where sellers send products to Amazon warehouses where they pick, pack, and ship the orders while handling customer service.
This is how Amazon is able to get product to customers so quickly through Prime, they handle the individual fulfillment.
We as sellers send them product in bulk.
In fact over 50% of products bought on Amazon come from third party sellers.
A 3p seller is a reseller, wholesaler, or brand simply leveraging Amazon's massive fulfillment network and customer base to sell their items.
Herein lies the opportunity.
You and everyone you know buys stuff through Amazon.
However most people have ZERO clue that everyday people like you and I can sell on the platform.
Amazon makes up nearly 60% of all US based Ecom sales, with over 50% of Amazon's sales coming from 3p sellers.
This means that over 25% of ALL US based Ecom sales come from third party sellers selling on Amazon
Kinda mindboggling stuff tbh.
Between August 2020 and 2021 the number of sellers who achieved $1m in sales grew by 15%, and I expect that number to grow.
One of the main reasons people love Amazon is you can buy all types of products through the platform.
The same holds true for selling.
I know people crushing it in
-Beauty
-Grocery
-Vitamins
-Toys
+ anything you can think of.
I find a lot of success with shoes, clothing, and toys
In terms of getting started its pretty simple.
$500-1000, some time, and commitment to take action is what's required, although I started with only $160 (well get to that later)
Head to Seller Central dot Amazon dot com and create a professional account for $40/mo, grossly underpriced to get access to a customer base of 9 figures.
Once you do that verification will take a few days so Amazon can make sure you're a real person.
Now that you're verified its go time! Hopefully by now you've watched some of my Youtube videos (I post every MWF)
And are ready to execute.
Time to find products.
Get a Keepa subscription ($20/mo) and find any barcode you can and scan it with the Amazon seller app.
This will give you an idea that there's a market for anything.
Amazon provides a sales rank for every product, which indicates how well it sells compared to other products in its category.
To decide what products are good to flip, I need to know three things
What item sells for
How often it sells
What price can I pay
Price you can pay is self explanatory, and Keepa helps show the demand and price items move for.
Pretty useful stuff, which alleviates the guess work involved.
I use Keepa for all my buying decisions, and is the best money you'll spend in the business.
Why I love Amazon reselling especially is because of the low risk nature and simplicity.
Unlike other types of e-commerce no ads, marketing, or product creation is involved.
I only sell name brand products (think LEGO, Great Value, etc) which people are already searching for.
Price competitively to insure I make sales, eventually more software gets involved but keep it simple at the start.
I started reselling years ago with only $160, flipped that into $220 and kept it rolling.
In college I started out flipping textbooks on Amazon, and eventually moved into other items.
Now I've made hundreds of thousands in profit and help others do the same.
Thanks for reading! Super fun stuff. Very profitable as well.
