Here's a personal thread.
Marc -Chameleon- Maiffret (@marcmaiffret) is a long time friend. We met on the IRC around 1996 or 1997 I think. He was part of the #Rhino9 group. We all owe a great improvement of Microsoft products to this hackers group.
I think that in his interview, there is a sentence that particularly jumped out at me: "I think if I have my core value, it's translating deeply technical things at a level that others can understand". And it the reason of this thread
I owe a lot to Marc because he and many others (@slugbait , Neonsurge, Antilove, R.F.P, @gordonlyon, B0dhidarm, Shivan, Nitro, Shaman, can't name them all) have contributed to make very technical things understandable for a noob like me. I learned so much from listening to them
It is this spirit of sharing that pushed me to share what I had learned, with others. Journalists (@manhack or @latrive for example), students (lots of them) and all those, more generally, who asked me technical questions
I'm not a tech guy, I'm a simple journalist. But what had been passed on to me, I had to share it again. In short, thank you @marcmaiffret and all the others, from #ADM, #Rhino9, #L0pht, #w00w00, @cDc_Pulpit for having published so much, and so much popularized security
